The perfrmance stats for FI Zs are a little dissapointing. It seems that Other factory cars with a similar power to weight ratio as a say Vortech Equipped Z turn in better numbers.
Everyone sites too much wheelspin as the culprit.
Could the Zs drag times benefit from a taller final drive? I remember one member talking about getting the automatic final drive gears for the 350 for when he went FI.
The way I look at it it might transfer power to the ground in a more linear fashion and give longer pulls in each gear.
What say you guys? Possible, feasable, potentially beneficial??

It's a taller gear in the auto. It gives you more mph in each gear so you won't have to shift at the end of the 1/4 mile. Not good for N/A powered cars necessarily but great for the F/I guys who have more bottom end power and torque.

Good explanation by Fly by Z. I wanted to trade gears with him but he's in Texas and I'm in Cali and neither one of us wants to go the distance.

YEah thats who I was thinking of. Thanks for the link. Whatever happened to Fly By Z. He doesnt post anymore.
I am keeping my 5AT N/A and want to swap my rear pumpkin for one of the 6MT ones. I should be getting this done within the next month. I just need to arrange a time to get it done. I also agree that FI cars would benefit from the taller final drive and allow them to actually use some of that power instead of ruining tires.
