Unless something has changed, Tadashi cant reflash with the 440cc injectors. One person has had a good experience reflashing to the 380cc sized injector map, and then doing the fine tuning with the eManage. This would solve the timing issue completely, and then you could enhance the idling, cruising, and starting richness that might develop, by using the eManage to scale the injectors from 380-440 instead of scaling from stock 280-440cc.
At the end of the day, I think you'd still need the eManage, even if you use the TS Reflash on the Greddy kit....due to the 440cc injectors.
But yes, a full stand-alone would be ideal, especially once the boost is raised beyond 10psi. I will say that your tuner is just stating his own exeperience and opinions in tuning the eManage...probably on other cars. The eManage is not difficult to tune especially for a skilled tuner (which I am not ) I am a hack, I got it pretty darn close at 9psi.....a little less timing retard and I will be well above 400whp on a good dyno.
Good luck!

I thought I would post a couple more pics. Piston shows some very small signs of detonation, maybe a combination of a weak rod, too much power, and no adjustment in timing.

Oh yeah, pistons, crank, bearings, and heads are all fine, just the block is damaged. Of course I am going to get new rods and pistons while I am at it.

It doesnt look like detonation to me.... I think the rod did quit on u. Hopefully with the new block and forged parts u can run alot more boost without having this problem again. Good luck man.

joe, so all your bearings were ok? Do you know where I can get bearings from besides the dealership. the hard part is finding right ones for my rods and crank. some are on back order from the dealership. and also at 6.6, what was your HP readings. I have heard anything over 395, the rods were breaking, regardless of timing or lean issues. I just pulled 410 with ugly A/F readings. I know what I am doing this winter. New rods, pistons, and cams.

I only put out 365whp, but I did have a very large boost leak at the maf tube. Two of the bolts had backed out. Once I had that fixed it ran much stronger.

wow very thick carbon build-up. No detonation, so possibly just a bad rod. Keep us updated as you start your build-up. Have you started looking for forged rods and pistons? You will have a monster on your hand when you finish the build with forged internals.
