Good choice. They make the best pistons out there, IMHO.

AEBS uses Pauter Rods I think they look to be a pretty beefy rods. Envious of another built and hella fast Z.

This is true but AEBS also has a drilled custom rod for like $1600 set..

Pauter are the way to go. I like em a lot. The Crower rods tend to need some TLC and extra machining before you can install them. The Pauter's are perfect out of the box.

I think I know which custom rods you are referring too. I saw them from AEBS around Feb, before their Stroker kit came out and it's actually ingenious on how they did this with Pauter of course.

8.5 C/R with a procharger? Why didnt u guys go with 9.1 because u will max the procharger anyways around 12-13psi which is what u can run on a 9.1 C/R.

Very true, are you running ATI Procharger with this 8.5 C/R piston? If so what LSs1Power said holds true. But if you're running the APS TT kit then your golden. Personally I would go with 9.1 C/R to keep low end punch we have with the Z and by 9.1 give it enough room to raise the boost a little. That's just me

Really?!?! Procharger has told me that their unit will flow enough CFM's for 700hp..Are you telling me that they are lying and that they only will achieve 13lbs of boost??

There are alot of factors in making HP. Heades, exhaust, cams, timing, etc... When they say 700HP they mean it will give u the CFM in making that much power, but that doesnt mean it will make 700HP on a 350Z. Im sure procharger are not lying, but to make 700HP on 8.5C/R pistons in a 350Z with minor mods u will have to run at leasy 18-20psi with alot of timing. The problem is that the procharger head unit for the 350Z kit will be maxed out around 12-13psi at 6900RPM. So u will have to overspin the blower to make more boost and that doesnt always mean more CFM, just heat. Thats why i was telling u to go with 9.1C/R and 12-13psi so u will make every last HP ur motor and blower can make. U will also make more power with a 9.1C/R than 8.5C/R giving the same boost levels. U will have faster response with 9.1C/R. Now if u have Greddy Twin Turbo i would go with 8.1-8.4 C/R because those turbos like to be run at 18-21psi on pump gas and 25-27psi on race gas and they will make alot of power. Turbos are laggy by nature so lower C/R wont affect it that much, but the advantage is that you can use the extra boost to make for that lag and fly.
U could make more than 700HP and keep ur 8.5C/R pistons. Call procharger and ask them if the D-1SC head unit will fit in the same place of your head unit. If they said yes, u can drop the D-1SC in and run 18psi which would put u around 550-590rwhp or so which is ur magic 700HP number. The D-1SC is self contained and it will fit the P600, P1SC, and F1 bracket and it does flow 1400CFM which is enough for 900HP by theory . This is the same head unit i have for my Camaro. Just my .02 cent. Good luck.

Well that kinda sums it up. By the way, the Pauters are ordered, give it 8-10 weeks.

Does CP make ~9.0-9.5 CR pistons for the VQ35?
