Default Uh oh. Better look out--Christi's got her blower now.

Been somewhat keeping this a secret until I had her tuned, but dammit, I can't keep my big mouth shut anymore. So last weekend, hubby and I spent a good 30 hours installing a Vortech. I've been driving her a week with a HUGE grin on my face--and I think that grin will only get bigger once I get my wideband O2 bung welded on and the 3.125 pulley on her this coming weekend.

No dyno numbers to report as of yet, but I have a sick fantasy of beating out McDuck's numbers by a tiny bit--just to irritate him. lol (Just pickin' Andy!)

In the mean time, I thought I'd share one or two of the pics from the install....

And I'm also kinda working on a "tips" article to share with those who want to do the install themselves as well. The Vortech instructions were incredibly straightforward and easy to follow, with only a few times I needed to improvise. But if I had the tips I'm going to share when I was actually working on the car, it probably would have saved us a few hours in frustration.

And just for grins, here's me at the end of a 14 hour day with my Z....

Default Just finished mine as well!

I think I constantly grin and giggle from time to time or all of the time. The Z definitely comes alive when it is blown.

Yup. My little line in my sig is finally a reality for me. haha

I'm tuning her this weekend, hopefully, (since I have to weld my O2 bung in) and when I'm done, Josh, I'll be happy to take ya for a ride. Just remember, no crapping yourself in my car.

Hey Christi, let me know what kind of HP numbers you are putting down. Out of the box I put down 351rwhp and 289tq. I am running really rich so after tuning I expect to see at least another 20rwhp. My torque numbers seem a little low. Any input by Vortech owners?

Wow... umm... Christi... I don't know what to say. You're having a fantasy and I'm in it! Does your hubby know about this?

Great work! I continue to be impressed by your mechanical aptitude... you sure you don't have a sister you can send out to NC for me? Can't wait to see your dynos. I doubt I'll be irritated if you exceed my numbers... just means I have to kick phase 3 up sooner to reclaim my crown! Here are my best numbers to date so you have a target to shoot for...

rwhp = 429.2
rwtq = 343.0

A question to the masses... has anyone logged a SC hp figure higher than mine yet? Seen plenty of TTs that have, but don't remember seeing a SC over 430rwhp.

Out of my garage--and a few of the streets that are in the neighborhood. lol Fortunately for me, we have several neighbors that are understanding of my husband's and my car tinkering.

And Andy--I was waiting for you to chime in. hee hee Now I know what I have to beat, and if I actually hit the 430 mark, I'll NEVER stop grinning. As soon as she's tuned the way we want her, I'll stop by a buddy's shop to see what kind of numbers I'm putting down, and I'll be sure to share.
