i put a boroscope in there and i cant see any cracks in the pistons, but its very very hard to see with these ****in things.
spark plugs are showing signs of either a little bit of knock, or debris from failure of the ring land above the top ring. i dont think my motor knocks... it has never shown signs of it previously.
Give me some time to play with it... havent had much time today.

i agree... sounds like the perfect setup... APS turbo kit installed and tuned via FCON at CJ Motorsports (the only known american tuner who has experience with FCON V Pro in the 350z???)...
we will see tho, the APS kit may be tuned well enough already that its perfectly safely tuned for 400-430rwhp - which is probably the max I would feel comfortable with returning to a customer. It really may not need the FCON at all.
470rwhp too much? Honestly in my opinion... its not at all. If it was possible at all for me to express the beating my car gets, and all the times I neglected it and ran it anyway when I knew that I needed to change something... you would be amazed how long it took to even damage the pistons. The car is very well tuned and since its my own R&D car I give it a hell of a beating... of course I would never treat a customers car the same way... this car was for my own personal R&D and thats why I have never been affraid of blowing it up.
But when it comes down to it... the 470rwhp would probably last most 350z owners several years of enjoyment. If you gave me a stock porsche or lambo I probably would have blown the engine by now.

I wish Peter would release a tuner kit....something without the ECU piggypack unit.
Then you could run the APS kit with an eManage or HKS Pro-FCON

Its only pragmatic that APS release the first wave of kits with a very safe and conservative map. It woudln't be too keen to have them installed and popping pistons out of the box. That would just be a "quick path to a bad rep". Hmm ATI comes to mind.

weslutes: there are several 350z being outfited with FCONs now. After the success of my car I was getting insane calls with people asking questions so that their local tuners can do it. There are also shops now setting up Prodealer accounts with HKS almost exlusivly because they want this system now.
Until the AEM EMS comes out, this is the EMS bandwagon to jump on.
