Are there test pipes that "aren't" raspy?

I have RESONATED LaBree pipes... or the Fast Intentions verson. A tech at Fast Intentions developed the pipes for LaBree before he went over to Fast Inentions. Anyway, I have substantial intake and exhaust mods to include Borla headers and exhaust, and while the exhaust note is louder, I have noticed VERY little rasp.
Good luck with finding the right down pipes!

I think no matter what you get, you will get some rasp. The question is how much :P Even with the HFC's you get a lil rasp. Just gotta suck it up and go with it. I have the Fast Intentions 300cell HFC, I have a slight rasp between 3.2k - 4.5k, but after that its fine. I also had similar sounds with the crawford, until the bracket broke and forced me to go Fast Intention :P

There just isnt any way to get around a raspy exhaust unless you restrict it to the point there is no more rasp . With a N/A car , restrictions arent going to make that much of a diff. on power . But with a F/I car , you want all the flow you can get get to increase the power.

I have labree resonated with my Invidia g200 and it rasped . I added a Magnaflow x-pipe muffler where my pipes ran parrallel and that eliminated 95% of the rasp and drone. The only solution is to add addition chambers (resonators) since most exhaust are designed to handle the flow coming from the cat. With additional, flow the exhaust isn't capable of suppressing the sound enough and you get the rasp.
