Default Does The Auto G35 Have a VLSD

I want to trade my 350Z 6MT rear end VLSD with some on with the Auto Rear end VLSD.
I found some one with a 04 Auto G35, does't it have the VLSD?
Thanks Guys,
Andrew

This is the G35 forum.

My G coupe with the tire/performnce pkg came with the VLSD (2004 5AT). If you friend got the 18 inch wheels, then I think he'd have the VLSD...

Only the 5AT G35's with the sport package have VLSD. The leather and base 5AT G35's have open diff only.

Check the interior, if it has the titanium finish on the center console then it has LSD. The performance package came with 18" wheels, titanium trim and LSD. Just because it has 18" wheels doesn't mean it has LSD, some dealers just put those wheels on.

04 didn't have a sport tuned suspension option.

Here is the clean cut answer.

For 2004 the following oem car's were delivered with VLSD

All 6MT coupes

All AT coupes delivered with the optional 18" tire and wheel package that also included VLSD

All 6MT sedans
____________________________________________

So, no 2004 AT sedan's have VLSD and no AT coupes with 17" tires/wheels have VLSD.

Unrelated side note.
Their is no such thing as a 2003/2004 coupe with a "sport" option, that did not occur until 2005 and that is defined by 19" wheels, totally different shocks, stiffer rear springs and a stiffer front swaybar.

I do believe it was an option for the AT sedan...

Not in 2004, only the 6mt sedan had VLSD. No 2004 AT sedan was ever delivered with oem VLSD. Now in 2005, getting the optional sport suspension on a AT sedan did give you VLSD, but not in 2004.

I didn’t look into getting one so I can’t say first hand... however I was told by a reliable source that it indeed was an option is 04... not starting a pissing match - just relaying trusted information.

Understood, then I'm giving you the info to untrust your trusted source. the infinitihelp.com site is Infiniti's own info site has alway's been upfront and accurate in these matters. That web site lets you resolve question's like this for all production years.

Plus we are talking about the same timeline when I did the first oem VLSD install into a a open diff car back in 10/03 (G or Z). Kind of bugged me that the 04 6mt got VLSD. So again, no AT 04 sedan's came onto our soil with a VLSD installed. Maybe someone is getting confused with 04 AT coupe's and optional tire and wheel backage.

Kind of reminds me of how dealer types would claim that the Track model 350Z had a different suspension.

In Canada we did. Standard in all 6mt's and sedans with aero package. Firmer springs and shock absorbers

Correct on the '04 sedans not being available with VLSD.

RE the '03/'04 sport option.... In Canada the 6mt sedan and coupe came standard with the "sport tuned suspension" that included firmer springs and shock absorbers. The swaybars were the same as other cars though. This was also included in aero package sedans. I don't know if this is the same package as the US had or not. Springs on my '04 6mt coupe were the same as the replacements from an '05 350Z except the front ones were about 3/8" shorter.

Have a second thought about your "reliable" source. It wasn't an AT sedan option in '04 confirmed by my '04 sales brochure.
