Is a G35c as fun to drive as a 350Z?
After having to get rid of my Z over a year ago for a truck (work). I am looking forward to owning one again in the next few months. But I have recently been thinking of getting a G35 coupe. I'd like to have the back seats. But on the other hand I love the Z. I remember having my Z for a few months and I loved every minute of it because it was such a fun car. I had a great time driving it on the twisties.
When the time comes I'm going to test drive the G to make my final decision. But I'm just not sure if a G is as fun to drive as a Z. Based on people who have driven/owned both the Z and G. Is a G35 as fun to drive as a 350Z?
Oh and just to throw it out there. I can't afford a G37 and I don't want to wait for the 370Z.

hmmm. tough one my friend. get the G though for sure, back seats, and yes i would def say just as fun to drive. unless you plan on having ONE person in the car, and thats the only reason i wish i would have got a G. ive drivin both, but there just as much fun for sure. caugh caugh get the G dude!

What year G are you thinking about?
The 05-07's have the updated interior which is much nicer, but no brembos. Also you must be aware of the whole oil consumption issue on those years.
I've test driven two 06's and they were very nice and fun to drive, have not driven a Z yet though so i can't make that comparison for you

Either a 05-07 G or a 07-08 Z (the HR is very tempting

z is much more fun to me the g doesnt honestly feel sporty at all when ive driven them. Just my opinion of course but its no where near as fun as my Z and my bestfriend has a G so i get to drive them alot.

).I had been leaning toward the 06 G35 myself, but I don't really need the back seat, and I decided I would rather buy myself a brand new Enthusiast Z for roughly the same price. All depends on what you're looking for, I'll be making my decision and getting the car beginning of next month, hope things go smoothly with your process too!
I’ve had the opportunity to drive both (actually all three… Nissan 350Z, the Infiniti G35 coupe, and G37 coupe).
Any of these cars drives just great. The Z coupe with its rear tires inside the car is noisy. The Infiniti coupe is less noisy (except the engine noise which is desirable and the same in either car).
I really like the Z for its appearance and its cubbys that allows installing great CES systems.
I like the G35 and G37 for its nice look, slightly larger wheelbase, and being a great handling/driving car with all of the Z’s advantages combined with the G’s edge for comfort.

my brother owns a g35c and i used to drive it all the time before I got my Z. the G is much smoother (suspension feel) and luxurious. a better cruiser. my Z however never fails to put a smile on my face when i take turns hard and pound it on a straightaway. I feel i should mention however that my Z is a '07HR manual and my brother's G is a 03 auto. That alone could explain the difference in driving feel. I wouldn't know how a comparable G would compare but between my two, the Z wins hands down everytime.

i have an 06 G and i love it! BUT, if I were considering buying one or the other today, i would either get the G37, or an 07/08 HR Z.
I think the money you would spend on the G35 to make is "as fast" as an HR Z or a G37 would make the price gap small enough to consider buying a new car. Also, infiniti has some good deals on Interest rates a lot of the times. I've seen them offer 1.9% for 60 months quite often, which closes the gap even more because a used car interest rate can be like 5-6%+ (depending on credit and size of down payment of course.)
From a money stand point, there are a lot of different ways to look at it, but from a trill standpoint, i LOVE my G,(didn't get a Z because i wanted the extra seats), and i really think you can't go wrong with either one. and take day off of work and flog a couple Z's/G's at your local dealerships.

I went through the same thing when deciding on a G or Z (I went G). In stock trim, on the road, there is nothing the Z can do that the G cannot....and the G does it in more comfort and luxury. Yes the newer G's interiors are better but you can't go wrong with any of them.
Now that I'm upgrading hehehe I can't wait to smoke some new vette's and vipers (or try to anyway lol) in a luxury coupe......
Plus I felt like a kid in the Z for some reason. Maybe cause I had a Z31 turbo when I was 17.
Either way you really can't go wrong now can you?????

It depends do you want a Sports car or a Sport Coupe? I think everyday driving the G35 would probably be best it looks good and run almost as fast as a Z. But the G is heavier then Z and doesn't handles as well so stock it won't run with 350Z but it will run close.
The G35 coupe is a classy pretty car and a step up in luxury for what I do it would be the better car. I don't race or auto x though I'd like to try auto xing in my Z.
But I bought a 05 2 seater 350Z and I'm happy with it, I drive a 2001 Q45 as a dd or when I want smooth sailing. But with the G35 coupe I could do both in one car, I do like the aggressive look & nature of the 350Z, but stomp the gas and the G35 can do it too.

i'd wish they came out with a new car look. .with the REAR of the G. .and the FRONT of the Z. I think that would look amazing!!!!
but im not to keen on the G i don't like the interior. .i think my Z's alot more roomier that the G!
