Need help, destroyed water pump and timing chain etc.
Hi All,
Need help and or guidence, which ever you have to offer. 06 G35 ate the water pump, and damaged the chain & tensioners. Dealer says $2600.00 to repair and that there are no worries of metal in the rest of the motor. We owe 10k on this beast, and may be forced to trade is AS IS.... I hate the thought of being upside down on a Hyaundai Sonanta, If I can fix this myself. I am pretty good at shade tree repairs, taking no short cuts, but this car does intimidate me.
What would yo do????? What would cause this? We need to make up our minds in the next 2 days. In the meantime I will search the site for info. Thank you!

Find another motor and do a swap. Simple. You can get a motor for about 900-1500 bux.

Just swap the block and take all the parts that are good off your current motor. IF your going to do this and want FI or anything else More HP 
nows the time to do it.. You can also sell your heads, cams, etc off the old block to make up some of the cost of the new motor. Just as a core charge.. I know you can sell Heads for around 400-500 bux if they are in good shape. There's a few posts on here that have the paperwork to diy your install. That ebay link was after searching for 5 mins I know you can find the EXACT motor your looking for just take a look online... Ill see if I can get your the TECH blowout.. just get me an email address.
