the VDC switch on the left had side of the lower driver's panel, near the trunk release switch. when you hit that, it should say "VDC OFF" on the gauge cluster.

You're confusing the VDC with the Limited Slip Differential.

Umm a Lim Slip Dif is an actual peice of machinery that goes in your tranny. Good luck turning that off, and I dunno why you would want to.

If you're talking about the SLIP light then thats the TCS, to turn that off you press the TCS/VDC button in the lower left of the dash.

Taking out the LSD would pretty much cripple you on turns with the power you're putting down.

Ummm....Don't think it's a piece installed in your tranny....
It is part of the gear housing in your rear axel.
And it would not help to turn it off.
It compensates so that if one rear tire starts to loose traction....the other side kicks in.

well, lets see.

1st off, i guarantee you that the LSD is not getting in his way. LSD is a very good thing to have. u dont want to be putting all of your power to one wheel. (trust me, i know this. i drive a truck. )
2nd, you're either talking about VDC or TCS. both of them could hinder straight line performance if he's having wheel slippage. there should be buttons where these other guys have posted.
3rd, if your buddy is experiencing slippage, then maybe he needs to look into an after market LSD. it would improve his traction emensly at the rear wheels.
