I have to reply.

Your $.02 is actually $.000000000000000002

Have you priced a (I'm guessing) 12" x 15" x 1" piece of Aluminum......I doubt it. + R&D isn't free....last time I checked.

CAD time/$ ? Labor time/$ ? Machining time/$ ?

Sounds like someone needs a reality check..........

just curious, does the spacer bolt to the lower plenum and then the upper plenum bolt to the spacer, or did you develop curved bolts?

i think you guys that are bitching are being very immature. Think about it, Although 199 bucks is a lot. They have made 10-15 horsepower, you keep the strut bar, you keep the engine cover, there is no core charge, and you keep the stock plenum. I think its a great idea, while I dont think they will ever be able to sell it for retail pricing, 199 for non group buy sounds pretty legit. 160-170 and I am on the list for this group buy.

ps: Have any of you noticed that the 1600hp 350z still has a stock plenum sitting on top of it?

$150 and I'll buy it. $199 is too much IMO. They'll get tons of order at $150.

R&D, the mold or wutever to cut the shape and the machinery that is required is all a one time cost. The only thing that is probably a reoccurring charge is going to be aluminum, which when bought in bulk, im sorry but doesnt equate to 250 dollars. I mean how much R&D really went into this... cut something that is the same shape as the stock plenum, raise it half an inch at the bottom and decide how much of an angle you want to cut it to the other end.... no matter what anyone tells me this is a complete rip off... id rather spend my money on a full plenum than a peice of metal that at 250 dollars is going to be like 10X or more return for them... okay... whoever is stupid enough to buy it go ahead... id rather order the plenum gaskets for 29 bucks through performance nissan and take my chances there.

A CNC is a one time cost?!?

If you can make parts like those for $10 each I have a job for you.

$200 for a part which delivers more performance than a lightened pulley (and arguably as much machining) is not a bad deal IMO. Add in the retention of the engine cover and strut tower bar and it's about as good as it gets. I'll be in for a group buy.

One question, what's the sound like? Does it have that Kinetix 'growl' or is it much more OEM like?

If you think $250 is too much, wait 6 months and there will be a clone selling for half the price. I'll bet that somebody is already planning one in plastic or at least something cheaper than machined alum.

This car did not do a flash. Its acutally an '04 so we don't have teh software yet. We just did multiple runs and let the ECU adapt.

Yep everything you need to install. Including spacers for the strut bar. A little higher on one side then the other so that when the motor torques it does not hit the strut bar. Nice right! Aluminum 6061-T6. Gaskets, bolts, instructions, everything.

You guys did a great job and the results are solid. Congratulations. However, I agree that the Crawford cast piece is more attractive given the pricing you quoted. I believe your results, but I believe Crawford as well. For the difference in price I will go with Crawford to eliminate the extra gasket, beveled washers, opportuity for leaks, etc.

does anyone know if the JIC strut bar sits lower than the stock strut bar? Dynamic6er said the stock strut bar will clear the plenum w/ the spacer, but we werent sure if the JIC sat lower and therefore wouldnt clear...

anyone know the answer?

thanks

Yup, wait a few months and their will be a copy In business I have learned something. I would rather sell 500 spacers at $75.00 each than sell 100 spacers at $250.00. Its about VOLUME! How do you think APC got so big? Because their stuff was so damn cheap and every ricer bought it, they were moving VOLUME! Most people don't understand that, and just go based on well "well, X company made 16whp and is selling their product at $300.00 and we made 13whp so say $250?" Im not doubting it makes power, but look at what your selling, it seems like your selling more the horsepower than the product. Hell, compare your prodcut to an Injen intake? Similiar gains yet look at all the parts an intake has? Heat shield, mandrel bent piping, bolts, hoses, CARB #.. Carb's cost a lot of money! and how much can you pick up an intake for? Injens have been sold for $200.00 even less! But good luck with your spacer, I will take my gamble with a plenum that is proven hundreds of time, and at least I know I am getting something that people can see. LOL when I had a Honda somebody came out with this, actually it was called the HONDATA gasket. Made of medical grade material (fire resistant) it was made to stop heat soak. Results showed a 10degree temperature drop by using this. EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS LINK!

this product sells for $60.00, and they sell like HOTCAKES! No need to JACK people on price for something that isn't worth it, good luck on your 900% profit margin product but it isn't going to fly with a lot of people
