if the bag was ripped, you should have filed a claim with the carrier, no? It's your right and responsability to inspect packages when they are delivered. I don't understand where AAM is at fault here.

 

I just recieved my spacer today. I would prefer the 6 matching bolts at the proper length please.

I was also wondering if those of you who have already installed had any problems with the strut brace. How many spacers did you guys end up using?

 

Does anyone who purchased/installed have the JIC Strut Bar? I am concerned about fitment since there is no room under the hood for the bar to go any higher

The total list of bolts I purchased to make the kit work:
M6x70mm - qty 3
M6x60mm - qty 3 (optional)
M6x40mm - qty 3
M6x35mm - qty 4 (40mm will work here too)
M6 flat washers - qty 13 (optional)

strut-bar to hood clearance 4.5mm minimum (near the ends) and 10.5mm at the center. strut-bar to upper plenum clearance 4mm minimum.

 

Is AAM automatically sending out the correct bolts or do we have to request them? Received my spacer yesterday with only 4 bolts, I would like 6 matching bolts please.

I installed my spacer the other day! I had to get 4x70 mm bolts, 3x60 mm bolts, and I used 6x40 mm bolts I had laying around. I used some of the 25 mm bolts that they sent (there were 4 of them) I only used maybe two stock bolts. The piece fit great, but the bolts and instructions could use improvement. FYI I only used two washers under the strut bar, three would cause the hood to buckle.

 

I got my bolts in the mail today from AAM. They sent three M6x75 bolts and washers. The complete finished product is great!

 

I got my bolts this week too. Thanks AAM for the prompt service!

 

We sent everyone that recieved the wrong bolts as complete set. Should see in a few days if not already. Thanks!

 

Still waiting on my spacer. I thought I was one of the first guys who paid too. I'm not sure what's going on but after repeated phone calls and pm's to AAM, I'm starting to get a little frustrated.
The bright side is that if it hasn't been sent yet I might get the proper size bolts with it!

 

Do we have an estimate on when all the orders from the group buy should be finalized?

I also saw that http://www.performancenissanparts.com sells the gaskets in large quantities, give them a try maybe?

 

Will someone "fill in the blank" with correct bolt sizes on the illustration I have posted? Or send me the bolt sizes in text form matching the numbers in my illustration and I will Photoshop a new image for everyone.

I have not installed by spacer yet, but want to be prepared when I do. I hope this will help others. I am not trying to post conflicting information with the AAM kit, I'm sure with the matching bolts it works fine. I'm just choosing to go with the longer bolts, similar to Roark.

they have corrected the problem and are now sending the right size bolts with their packages along with a corrected installation revision on where the different size bolts are supposed to go

 

Good to hear...but I received my spacer kit last week with the 6 matching bolts @ 30mm, is this AAM's final release and solution to the bolt issue? Is this suppose to work with swapping existing bolts around? I'm not sure this is the perfect solution according to others who have already installed and seem to have bought a variety of bolts. I am happy with AAM and the group buy, and buying some extra bolts is no problem if it's the BEST solution.

I'm installing my spacer in April, so at this point I'm edgaumacating myself

 

i haven't installed mine yet...but i have bought extra bolts just in case....so i am really not sure if the new version is perfected....but there is a revision and it should be stated in your directions if its the new kit.

i will be installing next weekend....so i will let you know then what's up

Yeah...the directions are a bit vague. The install, though, is quite straight foreword...if that makes any sence.

Not mentioned in the directions is the removal of the studs in the lower plenum - there is one on either side. You'll need a star socket (E6) to remove 'em.

 

i installed the spacer today but left out two screws how bad is that?

 

We actually decided not to utilize those posts for a bolt becasue we assumed that most people would not have the right tool. We use them essentially as locating pins. We foudn that the plenum would hold all the pressure we threw at it andsealed properly without them.

 

please explain what you mean by E6...socket....and where can you get it?
