Wink Just Installed JWT Popcharger!!!

I love it!

It sounds awesome. It almost sounds like you're boosting when you push the gas down.

Once you gun it, it roars into the high rpm's and creates a very aggressive all-motor sound.

I gunned it and my back end slid around on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts!!

The best part was that I got it for $50 used locally.

nice.....I've got mine along with a polished intake tube sitting in a UPS box waiting to be put on. I think I'll be doing that tomorrow. Good to hear that I made the right choice

It truly is an amazing piece. So many argue that "surely if I spent $350 to snake a filter down in front of my radiator it is gonna give more power" but it just isn't the case here. For one thing, changing the length and possibly even the diameter/bends on an intake tube can mess up intake air pulses, thus negating otherwise good "CAI power gains". Nissan's intake tube is perfect. Just needs a better filtration system, like JWT. Even Nissan Performance Mag. will testify JWT is the shiz.

Anyway, 14.33 @ 99 is what I ran stock. 1 week after installing the JWT pop-charger, 14.15 @ 100

not much... but give it time. Once the computer fully adjusts, you will see. Now, a year later (still no other mods) I ran:

1st 2nd
60': 2.100 and 2.153
330: 5.856 and 5.930
1/8: 8.915 and 8.985
mph: 79.42 and (blank)
1/4: 13.762 and 13.829
mph: 102.79 and 103.35

sorry I don't have a scanner for these slips. ran under 14 all night, about 10 runs, and always over 100 mph.

3K rpm clutch drop works best, but the stock rubber is horrible, imo.

Honestly, I would say more like 2K rpm clutch drop. I don't really hit an RPM and drop the clutch... I just kinda 1/2 throttle (maybe a little less) as I launch for a split second until I start moving, then I floor it. It is just a feel/practice thing. That way I get a good launch, with a little tire spin but not enough to sit still and not too little to "lug" 1st gear. I shift around 6300 RPM's, 2nd gear peels out for what seems like a second or 2, and 3rd gear "barks". This is on a dry, drag strip. In the rain, I can be rolling around 30 mph or so in 2nd gear and floor it, I will feel intermittent wheel spin all through 2nd gear , especially above 5k RPM's. And no, nothing is removed from my car. I even have a small tool kit in my glove box, and some gloves, some CD's in the compartments behind the seats, etc. I try to always be under 1/2 tank of fuel for a drag night, and I always use '93 octane (sometimes I will even add a bottle of octane boost for shxxs and giggles).

P.S. I don't think I ever barked 3rd on dry pavement before the JWT pop-charger install, except maybe once when it was like 25 degrees outside, maybe.

I was going straight and the road i was on was perfectly straight.

When I mean the back end sliding around, I mean when I shifted at redline from 1-2 and at redline at 2-3, the back end wobbled side to side for like 1 second.

I can say for sure this has happened. I hope I own a factory freak. =)

got mine put in last night with the UTR polished intake tube. Looks really nice in there but you're right about getting those holes made to screw the heat shield onto the snorkel. I found the trick was to use this really pointy soldering iron that I have in my old PC repair kit. Heated that baby up for about 3 secs and was able to angle it in enough from the heat shield side to poke through the plastic like butter so I could start the screws. My PC repair kit also has a SUPER stubby phillips head so getting the screws in from the inside wasn't a problem after that.

All and all I can't really notice much difference and can't hear anything because my exhaust is already pretty loud. I did notice that my intake and exhaust together though have really improved throttle response and got rid of that 4-5k RPM dead spot where it always felt like the car was running out of wind.

Total price for custom catback and pop-charger with polished intake = $700. Not bad at all

Don't tell the snorkel!!!!

I used Zip ties!!!!!!!!!

I used two large zip ties to tie that metal flap to the snorkel. I put a piece of double sided tape to ensure it doesn't scratch the snorkel.

Then I used another zip tie to secure the zip tied snorkel/heat shield to the hole along the plastic rail. ( can't miss the hole its right there).

Now it holds the shield perfectly with no holes to be made.
