Default What does your exhaust sound like?

I have this thing against (not to offend anyone) fart can sounds. Now, I am hoping that there is a way to make a 350Z get a throatier, V8 sound (Like a V6 Mustang)... Or am I going to be stuck with the high pitched weedwhacker sound? Say it ain't so!

So can I get a throatier sound out of a 350Z?

You can listen to some exhaust clips there.

Some one posted that Borla Headers with Borla Exhaust gives a V8 sound. Check the intake/exhaust section of the forums.

every Z will sound different...each car is unique. search the exhaust threads here and you'll see for yourself. your best bet, is to try and hear as many diff exhausts as you can in person and check out the available sound clips and then make your decision. there are a lot of options for our cars

I just listened to the stock... Damn, that thing DOES sound mean already. 2nd best in my opinion is the Borla, but those are expensive as Hell.

Borla + resonated test pipes or hi-flow cats sounds pretty mean. Sound clips are hard to judge sometimes, but heres a video of mine on the dyno:

Huh? Borla is one of the best but yet one of the least expensive, if not the most inexpensive.

I got a custom true dual done at a local shop and it sounds great. Down low it's throaty and when you get in the revs it sounds more like a Ferrari. Sounds and looks great for just a hair over $500.

Ditto, Borla is one of the cheapest exhausts out there for the Z.
