I ran into this by accident looking for exhaust gaskets on ebay. Its probably one of those turbonator type mods, but I just wanted to ask the experts for opinions....

These gaskets were engineered to reduce the heat transfer between the Heads and the intake manifold. The result is much cooler/denser intake charge, higher horsepower and greater reliability. You can expect as much as a 5% increase in horsepower with the use of this gasket set. If you prefer, you can stack our gaskets for more performance potential.
The spaceage material used in the gaskets easily handle the extreme heat output of a high performance engine. The gasket also seals on imperfect surfaces, and can be used over and over again. NASA uses this same material in multi-million dollar machinery.
Unlike other brands, this gasket won't dissolve or misshape in gasoline or any other automotive liquid for that matter. As well, it will never rust or oxidize like the factory gaskets, which could keep the manifolds from sealing properly. Our gasket will not warp under heat and exposure to gasoline like the competition. As well, our material has superior thermal properties, which allows us to keep the gasket thinner so changing to longer Intake manifold studs is not necassary.

I have the lower plenum and tb gasket with a coolant bypass. You would be stunned, below the gasket will next to burn your finger, directly above doesn't even come close. I can now rest my had on my Crawford plenum without worrying about it being hot after running around. So it does work. I got mine from http://www.fisherspeed.com/
Actually back in the day when i was into the 5.0 mustangs, BBK came out with the phenolic resin intake manifold spacer. It promised the same type of performance and was documented by many to do just that. So lets not knock things we dont understand. Who would of thought 1500 HP was possible from a four banger? Why do you think kinetex came out with the plastic plenum?

i think i am going to order a set...how is their shipping?
i had a similar setup on my acura...hondata claimed 5 hp on their manifold gasket. these really do help to reduce temps a little bit...can't hurt having cooler air coming in and 65 bucks really isn't that bad.
thanks for the link and info

I think I found another place that sells a similar thing.

I think you get both the manifold gasket (fisherspeed) and the gaskets you can buy on ebay in a package deal. I'm gonna give them a call in the morn. Anyone ever heard of these guys. It looks like the Nextgear stuff is popular with the VW crowd.
