there are several people including myself who want to cut the Engine Plastic to fit the Crawford Strut bar (or I guess APS for that matter as well).

Now I would like to know if anyone has done this and how they did it, since I'm having a hard time figuring out how to accurately measure on where to cut the openings out.

Help is appreciated

I cut mine to fit like that crawford example, but I didn't like the way it looked. Since the plenum isn't symetrical I just didn't like it. So I did it like this :

 

Mine is the other image (the G35) at the Crawford site. I did it with a cardboard template. I fit the cardboard around the plenum and cut it oversize. I then placed the template on the engine cover, and cut it to match the template with a Dremmel Tool. Since the template was oversize, the engine cover was also oversize. Better too big than too small, I figured. I then trimmed it to size in bits at a time. I'm at work, or I would post a picture. But it's on other threads, and, as I said, Crawford is using it as an example.

i have to admit it looks clean..plus it looks like you can keep the stock strut bar

 

You can't keep the stock strut bar because of the additional height of the plenum.

 

oops...i guess not. still, the modification looks clean.

I have always wondered why Crawford never included a template for this. Even if it was a ~$10+ option, I would think that enough people would buy it to justify the R&D expense....my 2¢
