PERMANENT CEL after starting engine with MAF disconnected!?
Hey
Im abit confused... I had to revert my temporary conefilter mod and put the stock filter box back until i get my K&N Typhoon intake delivered.
By acceident after putting back the stock intake i missed to connect the MAF sensor to the engine and started the car with a CEL as a result (which can be understood), i then shut the car off and immediatly opened the hood and found the not connected MAF sensor and plugged it back in, started the engine.
THE @£€@£$ CEL LIGHT IS STILL ON!?!?
Ive tried to disconnect the battery for some 20-30 minutes and all other electronics in the car (stereo, trip etc) has been reseted... BUT still CEL is on... The car runs flawlessly on idle and at WOT so the MAF is clearly working.
To me it sounds like the car has logged an error and keeps the light on because of that, can anyone confirm this? And do i need to go to Nissan to get rid of the CEL?
Thanks in advance for your help
/Roger

yes the ecu will throw an error code for the MAF "malfunction" and it will be stored there
you just need to clear the code with an obd2 scanner.. if you don't, the code might go away after a while, probably a couple hundred miles of driving. But the most certain way is to erase it with a scanner.

Thanks guys, thats what i thought!
And yes ive read you can do a ECU reset through a 100 step process with the ignition and throttle using a stopwatch... hehe, ill just leave it for a while and see if it goes away, if not ill either head over to Nissan and ask them to clear the code or do the ECU ritual. (ill need to do that soon anyway when i get my new intake and exhaust)
