Default APS Plenum Installed!

Hey guys I installed my APS plenum tonight. Gains seem to be pretty good, the car pulls alot harder. It sounds real mean at high rpms. It is signifigantly louder. The install was easy but the instructions sucked, it was just a diagram, no instructions at all. The plenum had some really nasty stuff all over it when I got it and with a little wet sanding I got it to look a little better. This proves that this plenum actually exists, I don't think many have been made yet.

Here is a pic....

Looks good, do you think there is a way to modify the stock plastic engine cover to fit?

Nice! That thing is screaming to be polished or powdercoated though! I have one but I haven't installed it yet. I had this sitting next to a Crawford & noticed the APS did look like it was a tad bit deeper but not by much. Plus the APS has those indentations which I can only assume is something to deal with airflow. Only a back-to-back dyno pull on the same car will tell if there is any significant difference between the two. My guess is that it is very minimal. As far as the plastic, I'm sure you can modify it much like what people have done with the Crawford but I think that's pretty much it. You will also need to change your OEM strutbar as well (the Crawford, APS, or Stillen strutbars will fit). The existance of this plenum has been out for quite a while now. It's just very few places have them readily available unless you were part of that group buy APS had a while ago where they threw this in for free if you bought their turbo kit.

Yes, I am kidding. I have been looking for this since the released the cad photos last year, they keep saying it will be next month, then next month, and so on. I have never seen one installed or seen a post of one installed, so I thought the joke was appropriate.

I want to have it powdercoated, I did have a couple of bolts that didn't quite want to torque to the correct specs. I am afraid that one may strip if I do the install again. I will probably have it powdercoated in the winter when I go out of the country though. I found a powdercoater that can do a chrome/silver finish and paint the aps letters red, I may even do the timing covers to match. This thing sounds evil at high rpms.

You should have said something. I've had mine for a little while.
