Exhaust Question
Hey what's up guys? I've been searching for an exhaust for a while now, but have been having a few questions. I kinda got an idea of which ones I might get. I have fujitsubo, topspeed, Invidia, Injen as part of my list. Now, what I want to know is how much better is a true dual over a regular cat-back exhaust? I'm leaning over to Fujitsubo but found out it's not true dual. So now I'm leaning over to Injen. I also want to know what people think as far as power gains for any of these exhausts. I want a nice sounding muffler(loud and deep but not abnoxiously loud with rasp), but also want some really good midrange power. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.
You probably wont get much help, check in the intake/exhaust forums. Theres a pretty good thread going with a lot of exhausts, pricing, sound clips, pictures. Try searching, you will find all the info you need in less time than it took you to type that paragraph.

I don't quite understand your question. A cat-back exhaust is from the catalytic converters back. There are different designs to get exhaust from the cats to the tail pipes. I suggest that you select a design that you favor, then a suitable manufacturer.
I looked at cat-backs, and decided that I wanted the exhaust from the right header to stay on the right, and the left header to stay on the right, and that the plumbing from the cats back be as straight as possible. I also wanted each side to have a resonator followed by a muffler. Polished stainless steel is a plus.

My choice is the Injen Super SES Cat-Back Exhaust System not because its “better” then the other cat-backs, but because it suits my design criteria and budget.

Well u just decribed is a true dual exhaust. Each muffler gets its own piping, instead of having both mufflers attatch to one pipe and then to a y pipe that connects to left and right header. So you'll have 2 mid pipes instead of one. That's a true dual cat-back exhaust. An example would be the magnaflow compared to injen cat-back. Injen is true dual exhaust. Take a look at some of the pics, and you'll get what I'm saying. But yeah I'm going to search the intake/exhaust forums. Thanks for the help. Although suggestions are still welcome. L8r

Oh by the way, I'm thinkin Injen, too. Looks sweet. Did u get a noticeable gain with Injen? Just curious. We both got the same colored cars by the way. Lookin good man. I'll post pics up soon.
Almost everyone who owns injen posted that they lost low and mid range power.
stillen - best gains and good low tone, but on the heavy side
injen - best looking, but you lose power
HKS - My choice, great gains, best looking, super expensive
Amuse - best exhaust but $$
Borla - good, but some fitment issues, a lot of parts. sounds great

I’m happy with the Injen Super SES Cat-Back Exhaust System performance.

If I lost power with the Injen Super SES Cat-Back, I wonder what I would be able to run stock? 13.60 seconds?

injen's coming out with a new H pipe, which I think will correct the power loss that a lot of people are having.
Wow, lost low and midrange power. I hope not. That's a true dual exhaust. Kinda hard to believe. Thanks for the numbers davidv. I still have a lot of research to do. But keep the suggestions coming. Thanks for the input guys.
Injen Super SES catback exhaust doesn't lose power. Look at this link it has a dyno and tell me what you think. I like the gains, here ~~~~>http://store.yahoo.com/sgpracing-sto...usesexfor.html
