Default Pop charger arrived!

Much thanks to Clark at JWT for providing this!

My Pop charger and oil pan spacer kit arrived today. I'm very impressed with the heat shield, hardware, and instructions with the kit. I'll likely slap it on this afternoon or tomorrow morning when I change the oil.

Very nice stuff. Results to come (whether you care or not! Ha! )

lol yes, I should hit myself for doing one of these threads.....but I'm not worried about install difficulty....I've done custom turbo setups while the car was on jackstands in an apartment complex parking lot haha.

I'll probably throw it on tonite before the local car gathering.

Is there really much differance with the JWT POP charger vs: the Nismo CAI? I have the Nismo CAI. What is the advantages vs: disadvantages Thanks!

CAI is conceptually better than ram air
cai sucks in cooler air from the under carriage all the time
ram air sucks in hot air when idle and cooler air when u get going
i have AEM(same as nismo) so i got complaint

In theory you are right, but in reality seems like the Pop-Charger its the best thing...

You can have the best of two world by getting the ram air and a varis air duct. My varis air duct should be arriving in mid-december. I will have the short ram with direct access to cold air.

And here is some more opinions on the popcharger compared to the CAI.(this only pertains to the 350Z CAI as it needs longer tubes to get to the bottom cold air, not other cars where it might have faster acess):

https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exhaust/153647-popcharger-is-a-piece-of.html

"Shop owner of where I dyno told me the CAI on the Z is way to long, and that there is too much turbulence in the intake with CAI's and the plenum. He asked "if you had two guys drinking water out of two cups, one guy has a short straw and the other guy has a long, curvy straw of the same diamater who would win?" I said the short straw, direct shot, less force on the guy to suck up, he said same goes for air and your motor."

http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/june03/350pop/

"Not wanting to mess around we put the car on the dyno immediately and recorded the biggest gains we.ve seen on any 350Z yet: 6.5 hp at the wheels! The driving difference was noticeable, springing a welcomed quickness to redline. To say we were amazed is an understatement. It.s not that we.ve ever been let down by the POP-Charger but it usually gets out-gunned by the fully piped Cold Air Intake. What a welcomed discovery: the most affordable intake modification we.ve tested makes the most power."
