Thumbs up Injen Install....Dyno Results

I install the Injen System and went to the Dyno and let me tell you I was impress.
The car Stock (K&N) put 246 HP 233TQ. With the Pre- Silencer remove went to 249 HP and 235.5 TQ. So my base #s are 249 & 235.5 I did 3 run and all 3 went the same 259 HP and 245 TQ in 5th gear. I guess the difference between the promo HP that Injen have is not the same (5hp & 6tq) because they test the car in 3rd not 5th.

Thanks to Shawn and Jeremy of StreetSports for getting me the System.

Sounds great! for me is the perfect sound, not to much noise inside the car.

Was it easy to install?

Do you have pictures? I'm sure it must look good on your car because it is red.

just curious, but could you possibly dyno it again in about 1000 miles? I wonder if itll kill you again when the ECU resets to the new hardware.

You're quoting SAE adjusted numbers, right?

sae changes the HP to a standard amount that can be compared to other runs and other people in different locations with different weather conditions. you will dyno higher with higher pressure(lower altitude) and colder temps.

anyway, its just a rumor that the ECU is changing the program to back down the HP when it notices something new. but it seems to take a little while for it to do it. hence why people that have done true exhaust, and even injen intakes have not gained much, if any hp.

So reset the ECU, then it can take full advantage of the mods.

doesnt seem to work like that, all that does is speed up the process. the ECU will retune the engine with whatever it senses, if it senses more air flow, it will cut back on the fuel to keep hp even. if you go REALLY crazy it will default to safe mode and kill your power.

Why would the engine cut back on fuel if it senses more air?!?!?!?! That would induce a LEAN condition. Doesn't make any sense at all. When a MAF senses more air flow, it in turn tells the ECU to give the car more fuel. Not the other way around.

Im not sure what it does actually I shouldnt have said that. but whatever it does it keeps the engine from putting out hp, either that or a dual exhaust reduces hp. many mods have shown little or no hp, maybe its true that stock is perfect; otherwise something is affecting it.

I purchased and installed Injen's CAI on my 350 about three weeks ago. Although I haven't Dyno'd it yet, I'd say I was VERY impressed in the low end torque. (Just when you think you've found perfection....) Injen's instructions for installation however, is a little scary for the DIYer. I did not disassemble the front end as per the instructions. Instead, I went through the diffuser. You can do everything from on top and removing all the bolts except the rear line of the diffuser and then GENTLY working everything into place. EASY install for all us DIYers!!!

Best of all is the performance when complete. Injen sends their DYNO results on the shipping box

Good sound - a little more throaty. You also get their license plate frame to hang on the back...

All in all I'd say another premium product from Injen
