I have a few customers who have installed this filter, and they all say it's roughly the same as the K&N as far as gains go. I'd stick with K&N for the price, but some people really like the Nismo name so.........

I'm really dissappointed with Nismo - they can't seem to get their shiznit together. All they have done so far is basically repackage, rename and reprice (oh, about 30% higher) existing products.
So much for REAL R&D and decent parts. There's nothing unique about Nismo for the most part - nothing you can't get somewhere else for either better quality or better pricing. What's the point? They're just whoring out the name.

Doesn't the K&N filter need to be oiled?
Whereas the Nismo is a dry type.
I guess if you oil your airfilter too much you could mess things up.
One question:
Do these enhanced drop-in filters change sound? Probably not?
Trying to understand from where the agressive sound comes for example when using a pop charger.
Is it recommended to change the stock airbox setup or filter when you already have a non-stock exhaust? To complement it? I mean, if you increase exhaust flow, you sort of have to also increase intake flow to really get something?
I have the nismo cat back, and I am eyeing nismo cai, pop charger, and this s-tune drop-in filter. And can't seem to decide.
Thanks, and hope you don't mind me asking questions in someone elses thread.

dont really change sound..
but, usually with the higher flow filters, you can hear a PSSP sound when you tap the throttle...
Pop Charger will give a consistant 6 HP to the wheels... NISMO is around the same, drop in filter, well... K&N will save you money in the long run...
