just curious but how does the spacer stack up against the crawford or aps plenum since these were not mentioned in the spacer/plenum/kinetix shootout?

It was rediculously expensive for what it was, though, and I don't recall anyone in the states ever getting a hold of one. That's when Crawford came on the scene. They went with what they were equiped to build and got good results. They're not a machine shop, so welding a larger front to the stock upper plenum was easier than the spacer concept. Other companies (Kinetix, APS) jumped on the bandwagon with their own variations, given the proven success of Crawford, so spacers took a back seat for a while and came back around later on. Interesting to watch how these things evolve. There simply weren't any machine shops around atthe time to give the spacer thing a try, so a Z car tuner gave something a little different a go with what he had to work with and the aftermarket high volume upper plenum was born.

Ok, I just dated myself as one of those "old-timers", didn't I?
wow, i never knew about the esprit thing. thanx for the history lesson, mgf.

No prob. After I wrote that, I went back and searched on it (search: esprit plenum spacer); you can stil find the info. on it and pics dating back to early '03. Due to it's composite construction, it would have had "iso-thermal" properties as well.

Road Warrior,

I suggest you re-read the article. The Crawford Plenum was tested and did well in my opinion. The APS Plenum & Skunk2 spacer were also covered on page 50 (Sport Z Magazine - Winter 2006) in the "Why didn't you test...?" portion of the article.

I expect lower collectors will trickle back in over the next 1-3 weeks.
I'll get them machined and ready soon after.

Hey Tony...

Is there a time limit to get the lower collector back to you to receive the core refund? My install probably won't be until the end of the month but I will find a way to get it on there ASAP if I have to. I know you'll be waiting to get these collectors in so you can get some inventory going again....

Thanks

No real time limit.

But keep in mind any core exchange rebate beyond 30 days from the purchase date cannot be refunded through the CC. Beyond 30 days it can only be done by check.

These are rules made by the CC processing company.

Yeah. That's why a copy of the invoice must be sent in with the core.

neither have I.. my order number is 109.. supposedly he's on the high 90s right now.. or at least that's what he said around 10:48am.. so he should be in the 100s. I don't see why it takes so long to ship them out, but it is taking this long and we can't do anything. Hopefully we get them soon.

I have the machinists machining lower plenums 8 hours a day every day untill they are all out.

For quality reasons, I don't want to rush them.

Oh, I see.. I thought you had 120 something already machined lower plenums that you were just shipping out. I guess you are shipping out the ones you received from others and then machined? I guess mine won't exactly be "brand new" then.

As the introductory sale, 95% of everything going out is brand new but they all of them need to be machined.

BTW: I gotta run off to the machine shop to pick up more finished plenums!
