Which MD spacer is everyone using?
I'm trying to decide which Motordyne spacer to go with:
1. Basic plenum spacer 5/16"
or
2. ISO Thermal plenum spacer 5/16"
Thanks
Ian

Ian go with the ISO thermal 5/16 spacer.

Hey John,
I haven't put them in yet. The z is in the shop right now getting that recall done.
It was suppose to be done today but they haven't even started on it yet. And they've already had it for two days
The worst part was that the service lady told me that I'd definitley have it back by Friday......yeah right. Atleast they provided me a loaner
Anyway, I'm droping the seats off tomorrow to get shampooed and cleaned. When I got them into the light, I was a little shocked at how dingy they were
I'm going to do some before and after pics.
Are you installing the Teins yourself?
Ian

yeah it is hard to keep the fabric of those seats well maintained, but what a bargain.
I am actually going to have Ross put the Tein's in. I was going to do it at the hobby shop, but that is to much of a pain in the **** for me trying to get onto the lift and everything. After the Tein's are in though I will clear the lift no problems and will start doing my own stuff again.
I just got some Nismo Rear Skirts, now I just need to figure out what side to get.

Here's my suggestion:
I'm trying to hook something up with motordyne where we dyno test the different combinations of the MREV+ lower plenum mod, 5/16" spacer, and possibly a NEW lower plenum mod that they're working on, all on the 287HP motor on a 350Z. Previous tests they have done were on a G35s
I would wait until after the results come out to buy something from them... just my $0.02, you might find that it's worth the money to get the lower plenum mod as well.

I'm going to be right there with Tony, I'm going to let him run the show but make sure the test conditions are identical...If you want to test out the products too, just shoot hydrazine a pm.

Regular 5/16 spacer waiting to install. I read the data about the anti-heat sink properties of the thermal thing, at it just left me scratching my head. Besides who must extra is the thermal option? 100? I will just spend $100 on something else.

Properties of heat transfer tell me that the faster the air is flowing, the more heat is being transferred.
Sure, the air isn't sitting there like it's basking in the heat like a convection oven, but you're cooling off the engine block with incoming air via the upper plenum without isolating it. The longer you keep the intake air away from engine heat (ie. from initial intake into the air filter all the way down to the lower plenum) the more dense the air will be going into the cylinders compared to letting heat soak take its toll.
Edit: IMO go with Iso-thermal
