Default For those with aftermarket Cats

Hey guys, I just got my Kinetix HFC's today and went up to the shop to see if they'd put em on. He said its no problem, but it might take a while because they have to find somehow to "hang the wires" from the o2 sensors, since these cats don't have a mount point on them.

Any advice, so I can tell em and it shouldn't take too long to get it done?

only time consuming part will be taking out the bolts. Tell them to eat some buttocks and take it elsewhere. How much are they charging you anyways?

They didnt give me a set price. The shop charges 70/hr. I don't see how it could even take too long... 2 mins to drive it in and lift it up...remove bolts..pull it out...put new ones in... put bolts back in.

Am I going to need any new gaskets for this?

My test pipes didn't come with gaskets I'm waiting for the exhaust to arrive to see if that comes with any. It'll save you a ton of $ if you do cats and exhaust together. A good shop will install in about 45 min., taking their time. Gaskets are really expensive, as well.. prolly will cost me $60 for everything I need ((

yeah they should, if you don't have too many miles on your car. I have 17k, so I'm going to get fresh new ones, just in case.

I watched my shop put on the HFC. they did it in less then 45 minutes. They charged me like $50. And there was no issue with the "hang the wires" thing. Take your car to another shop.

You may have misunderstood the mechanic. The Kinetix converters have no hangers. The mechanic may be considering fabricating and welding hangers.

A quality job deserves new gaskets. About $40/4. Why risk a potential leak for $40?
