Default throttle body bore question

So I'm getting a crappy beat up throttle body with an intact butterfly plate, and im going to get a friend to use that one to machine out a new one that is slightly larger, and then have my throttle body bored out to fit the bigger plate. are there any things im not covering in this plan? what else is involved in making a big bore throttle body? thanks.

making sure you don't go to far, lol. main thing is getting the throttle plate centered correctly.

Unless you are FI or have a 9000 rpm rev limit anything over stock could be a hinderence for the daily street driver. If you are going for the ultimate NA monster that will have a set power band in the RPM's which you plan to stay in it could be beneficial. Especially with a stroker kit. Otherwise, you would lose low end and gain high end. Maybe a loss in torque due to air velocity.

The size is 2mm oversize at 72mm, with the inlet enlarged to 78mm.

Turnaround is usually 2 shop days. Shipping time to and from Seattle needs to be considered as well. Performance gains are difficult to quantify due to many different engine preparations, but they say that the rebored throttle body will flow 7% more air than a stock one will.

I worked with Jim and spoke to him on the phone many times. He was very easy to work with.

I checked to see if the SSV needed to be ported and everything match up fine. Just needed to shave alittle off of the cork gasket to make it match up.
