Default Pop Charger thread 4,894

Actually couldn't find it in search, then again I actually didn't use it either

I like my PC'er for the most part, I suppose but that noise everybody calls a whistle, that sounds exactlly like squeling brakes, is annoying after 4,500 miles of listening to it.

I know of one other guy who yanked his and went back to stock because it drove him nuts.

I pretty much only hear it with the window down. but can hear it with it up too.

Anybody know if there is something to minimize the whistling, squeeling noise without loosing the effects of the high flow filter too much?

I'm thinking there isn't much one can do about it without restricting the air flow to some degree.

How about a half gallon of filter oil

K&N drop in filter (if they make one)

just put the stock box back in if you don't like it

Just get a loud obnoxious exhaust and you'll forget all about the pop charger.

Guess my exhaust is pretty loud then b/c I've never heard the whistle. If you'd like to try the K&N drop-in filter, I have one for sale in the private classifieds:

You really gotta suck at life if you take off an intake because the whistle created by additional airflow is too much for you Ride a bike! Oh but wait, the wind rustling in your ears while you're riding might cause you to remove those as well

the whistling is pretty noticeable at low rpms i guess, i just cant say i thought of removing it because of this. To each his own i guess. I dont think that you can do anything to get rid of it, but hey, good luck!

I just installed my popcharger last week and I have not heard the whistle that so many people have described. I am very aware of strange noises on the car so I would have picked up on it. The popcharger does make for a very badass induction sound. I only have the Borla TD exhaust and when I get on it, all I hear is the popcharger sounding like a damn race car.

Install an upper plenum mod. It muffles it quite a bit.

Turn your radio on man. I thought it was a given that if you were driving the radio is on??? I just put one in like a week ago and I can't hear it unless I have the widows down with the radio off even at WOT, it makes the engine slightly louder, but I never really get to notice the whistle. -
