Default MREV+ Vs MREV2

I've had a good read but I still feel I should ask this basic question: what exactly is the difference between these two? I have the REVUP engine and the MREV+ I ordered a while back is still in the box waiting to be fitted...I have waited for the UTEC to arrive so I could do both together. So I should be fitting the MREV+ soon. Just curious to see what the difference is (both tech and butt)

MREV+ : top of runners 1 and 2 shaved

MREV 2: some additional grinding and shaving has been done.

I know it's confusing because on the website, both pictures are the same IIRC.

@wired: thanks for that, it's clarified things for me...I suppose testing and dynoing does good things for the evolution og great products.looking forward to the install...BTW did you do do anything ECU wise after the install of are you running with the stock map?

That's interesting. I had the MREV-2 installed, and the difference from stock was only one port shaved and polished. Is this the MREV-2? I hope so, because that's what I paid for. Tony?

Are you sure you inspected it closely enough? I think mine has more than one area that is shaved.

Yea. My mechanic laughed at me, because the only difference sitting side by side was the first port on the left being shaved and polished. I'm hoping that I haven't paid for a MREV-1(or whatever the first gen. was called) and paid to have it installed. Tony?

Any MRev involving shaving would/should have at least the front 2 ports modified. I think the original MRev didn't involve shaving at all, just old lower and spacer for revups.

My understanding of MREV was that it was just the non-revup lower plenum sold for revups.

Then the MREV+ came out which was the spacer and the non-revup lower plenum combo with very minor modification and this was still for just the revups.

Then the MREV2 came out, which is the non-revup lower plenum with the top of the intake runners 1 and 2 shaved. This is for both revups and the non-revups.

Hmmmmm. Does anyone have the MREV-2 that they can take a picture of for me? Unfortunately I didn't take any pix, and it's already installed. Please.

Only one runner modified?... That's very unlikely. Open the plenum up and send me some pics!

A G35 driver recently posted his dyno results of these two on a REVUP.

He had the MREV+, dynod it as a baseline and installed MREV2. He did about 3-4 HP over baseline.

You can find his dyno plots either here or on G35Driver.com. It was posted a week or two ago. Good results!
