Default Help me choose an exhaust.

Okay guys, sorry if im beating a dead horse because I know threads like this get made everyday, but I've been searching and searching for the right exhaust set up for me and I can't make up my mine, so maybe you guys can help me. All I know is that I will have test pipes, which brand of test pipes, I don't know yet. Do you guys have any TP brand suggestions?

Okay, now to my main question, the catback. The most important thing to me is performance. I'm looking to have a really torquey (sp), responsive car, not really interested much in top end power. I would also like the exhaust to be loud, but not obnoxiously loud because I am on sort of driving probation and the last thing I need is to get a ticket for a loud exhaust. As for the rest of the car, the car will be N/A with the usual bolt ons (pop charger, plenum spacer, mrev2) The price should also be lowish. I have no problem spendin' a good amount of money on a nice set up, but nothing too expensive im looking in the $600 - $1500 range.

Thanks and again, sorry if you guys are sick of these threads.

For test pipes, I would stick with LaBree or Fast Intentions only.

For the exhaust, I recommend HKS Hi-Power Ti, GReddy EVO2, or maybe even the new Injen. Though I haven't really seen that one in person yet. But the HKS and the GReddy are very fine pieces, good quality and craftsmanship, with a reliable name to back it up. Plus they both look and sound good.

My vote to:

1. STRUP Header
2. STRUP test pipe
3. HKS exhaust.

tanabe SMR, hyper or invidia n1. all 3 have great quality, make good gains, sound great (loud, but not too loud) and are relatively cheap (all below $700). i'm getting an exhaust soon and these are my top 3.

Is any exhaust's gains better then all the others, or are they all pretty much the same.

Just got the APS 2.5 TD. Had the Borla and I felt gains with it, but I felt more gains with APS exhaust. and the sound is loud but not as loud as the HKS. You can find it for 1200 - 1300.

I just changed my exaust with helix test pipes, AAM Y-Pipe and Single 3" AAM exaust. The car sounds so nice. Just like their website says many current exaust kits make a resonating noise around 3K rpm but the AAM has a very low rumble and no raspyness at all. I'm very impressed

I would give it some consideration as it is an excellent product.

Here is a sound clip of it:
