Default Installing Injen CAI.

Do you have to take the front bumper off to install the CAI? I might just throw in the short version, no CAI.
How big is the difference of performance?

You don't have to take the bumper cover off. But, it does make the install a little easier.

You may actually lose power using it as a CAI. Its probably best just using it as a short ram.

The filter is in front of radiator. If you need room to work:

a. Remove front tire.
b. Remove plastic wheel well.

Why would the power be less with the CAI??

The stock air intake is already top notch; aftermarket CAI don't necesarily perform significantly better.

Long ram just tends to loose more low-end power.

CAI do sound good though

not true. ive asked many Z stores like ultimate Z. says its the best intake.

i first wanted to buy the typhoon intake and he said hes actually seen dyno results of losijng power. but he said the injen intake is really good, just pricey.

i dont think him and most of the guys at the store would have them if they made ur car slower.

:shrugs:

I'll take a pretty reputable Z owners word for it when he said he lost power from comparing time slips.

Ahhh the age old sr vs. cai. My experince, sri little hp gains much louder quick throttle response, heat soak.

CAI more hp gains quieter than sri not as good throttle response.

Of course this all prolly depends on the car.

Hey,

man.... for a new Z owner this is all quite discouraging...

I just ordered my Injen CAI .... it should be in any day..

I planned on using it as a CAI..... as logically that is the whole point to get the "colder" air......

I guess ill have to test both setups myself......

any further feeback would be good...

thanks

Tony... from Montreal...

How long it takes the motor to respond to pressing the accelerator?

Hey guys I'm new here and have a lot to learn about aftermarket mods for the 350z. It sounds like a CAI is a bad choice. Have any of you gone with aftermarket headers/full exhaust? My initial plans are bolt ons....

Thanks!
