Default Aftermarker Headers VS Aftermaket Y-Pipe

Hey whats up...

Im wonfering witch OEM part is better to replace with something aftermarket....

currently I have a custom exhaust.. the Mid-pipe and muffler. so naturally im leaning towards finishing the exhaust with a new Y-Pipe..

I'll also be installing the Injen intake and MD Copper ISO thermal spacer up front....

Ive read that the OEM Headers are very good. and that the OEM Y-pipe is very restrictive..

eventually I will put the Headers anyways.... but for the momment, if you had to choose one or other for my intended setup, what would it be.

thanks

Tony.

Really? Remove the OEM exhaust manifold (on the floor above), and look at it. You may change your mind.

Ya, Im not sure who told you the stocke headers were good, but Im sure they never really looked at a pair then. A nice set of headers is always a good thing.

Im not trying to confuse you or anything, but with the money you are going to spend on the injen, you would be better off to get an pop-charger with an air duct, or just a k&n drop in filter.

Yep. I think the OP might have read a comment somewhere about 07 stock headers, which are pretty good, and about as close to equal length as you could really ask for.

You will see better gains from replacing the headers (exhaust manifold), but they will cost more and be tougher to install.

I just installed my TP's the other day, and looking at the headers, it looks like it is going to be a pretty tough install. Thats why I will be doing some other mods before that!
