Are you just going for the bling or are you trying to make power with that?

if you had read the thread you'd realize they were looking for someone to dyno it.

this is really crazy guys. There are just to many variables.
1 on rev up motors
a) does the rev up collector make more power?
b)does the non rev up collector make more power?
2 on non rev up motors
which collector is better?
3 on both motors
a)will the benifits be worth the time and effort?
b)does the top need to be big for big results or will a normal sized top work?
4 on both motors
a) I know from factory both motors could use some help in flow issues so port matching is a must

so for now I am going to do the same process to a rev up lower collector. I will keep you posted thanks for keeping interested in this mike

^ nice breakdown of what to test. can't wait to see the results. I'm sitting around with a revup and non-revup lower collectors right now waiting to see what progress you make and hopefully learn from it.

I have a spare lower collector from a '03 motor if you need any more parts for the meat grinder.

OMG, couldn't stop laughing after reading this!

But my bet is that this thing will perform at least as well as an APS Tall Boy, Crawford, or MD. :-)

After a few hours of Further Customizing for perfect fit... The Plenum Project on my car is complete.

Mike is the Fn MAN.

My Plenum is based on the 2006 Rev Up. Hopefully one day we'll get both tested at the same Dyno to see what the difference will be between the Rev UP Vs the Non Rev UP Collector. Looks Fn Awesome. The one in my car isn't Diamond Plated so I will take Pics for those of you that didn't like the Diamond Plate Version. I personally think his looks MEAN as Hell in person. The picture really doesn't do his DP Version Plenum Justice.

Now I just need to get this Puppy Tuned...

The Car is tuned, now I just need to get my Digital Camera back so I can post some pics. Will need to eventually Dyno as well, hopefully soon with a 3rd Stock 2006 G35 as a baseline.

Just a tip from someone who has done this . . . all this. It is important to have the middle supports in the upper plenum. It will "breath" and flex to the point of breaking at the weld seams. Trust me. My plenum is one of the first we did at crawford z car and uses 3/8 aluminum plate and it was still not strong enough to go unsupported.

BTW . . . just some info since we did this exact same technique over 4 years ago, there is a point where the height of the plenum becomes negligible. You dont have to have it as high as you have made it. You would be better off reducing the height of the plenum, leaving the flanges alone, and working on the flow characteristics inside the "plenum". Just some helpful hints from those of us who have nearly 1000 dyno pulls testing different configurations of hacked up plenums.

Nice effort . . .have fun!
