Greddy EVO 2 rattles?!
I have a Greddy evo 2 exhaust that I bought used off of another member. I am just frustrated with the exhaust because everytime I go over a small dip in the road, I hear it rattle pretty moderatly. I went underneath the car a few times, but theres no way I could tell where it is coming from. From inside the car it sounds like it is where the tips are. Does anyone else have these issues. I searched a few times, but I couldnt really find anything pertaining to this topic. Thanks.

Since the exhaust is hung on a rubber mount, it is highly doubtful that the hanger is causing the issue. You probably just need to get under the car and check the entire exhaust. I'll bet that you'll be able to spot it.

my greddy evo rattles like no other. checked it out and i am hitting the rear sway bar and middle brace. i spaced the brace down about 1/2 an inch or so. the swar bar has me baffled. i've change hangers and the problem goes away for a day or two tops and then returns. then goes away and then returns again. i've uninstalled the system and reinstalled to make sure everything is good to go and the same end result. not sure what to do on this one. any help would be cool on that one. i spoke with greddy and they assured me they have no clearance issues with the system. but i got your back on this one...
you pay almost triple digits for an exhaust system that sounds like it's falling apart...don't like that too much. thinking about just putting my home made test pipe back on and reinstalling the rest of the factory system...
some one help us

Your only other option is to get the Nismo exhaust hangers. They are stiffer than the stock ones so it could help with your exhaust flexing the stock hangers and hitting the sway bar.

I have one as well and I have to say mine is fine once I did what Stylett did
Also have you double checked that when you relocated your evap canister that is not what is causing the rattle?
Mine was a rattly trap like yours seems now because the evap canister was hitting the "plate" I had built.
I took it off with a buddy and put some foam on it and now my car is rattle free..
just another thought.
Good luck!

Thank alot stylett and daytona, I completly forgot about the black relocation brace. I added some washers and it has reduced the rattling. I will take it out again and add some foam to see if it completly eliminates it. I completly forgot about the canister. Thanks.

I would say make sure when you put the hangers into the rubber grommet that you use some lube to make sure they go in fully.
I had just about every issue you could have installing mine...
Good luck though!

All you guys need to do is loosen the bolts (dont remove them). Put spacer in between the exhaust and the braces or anything that it might get into contact with. Tighten the exhaust bolts then remove the spacers you originally placed. You should have some space in between the exhaust system and the objects.

Well I finally got my pro 1 test pipes installed in the car, and now theres a wierd rasp/rattle but only when the rpms come down around 2500-3000rpm. I took it to an exhaust shop and herad themn rev it on the lift, the noise is coming from the X pipe resonator piece. The guy was going to cut it out, and put a straight pipe. I was not sure if this was a good idea so I told him I would come back. He said that the glass pack may be going out?! if that is possible I dont know. Also I found that the exhaust rattles when i hit it right before the big mufflers, but it is not hitting anything at all, and the last part that attaches the canister to the main exhaust had no gaskets, but the shop said that it wasnt needed since it was a machined surface. This exhaust is beging to turn into a nightmare. I do know that it never made that noise before the resonated test pipes. Do you think I should just go ahead and get the straight pipe put in, and worry about the rattling in theback portion of the exhaust later????Sorry for the rant guys its just driving me mad.
