Agreed. Its not that lighter wheels are giving you more HP, its just a weight reduction, and a more important weight reduction by lowering rotational mass. Its something like, for every 1 pound you lose on your wheels it equals about 6lbs of weight reduction. Its a bit theoretical, but that is why you will see such changes by changing your wheels. Its not actually giving you more WHP though, thats just kinda funny.

6 pounds off 1 pound off rotational mass?

Wish someone had a mathematical answer because I've heard for every 1 pound its 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.

Its not reducing drivetrain loss because the engine is still turning over the same components.. removal of accessories such as A/C, powersteeing pump and other things that use the drivetrain would be reducing drive train loss .. not lighter wheels
So does a lighter flywheel got spun faster to redline with the same 287/300hp motor powering it? And why is that....could it be that its LIGHTER and therfore easier to spin

Seriously I wonder how people come up with this stuff.....not only are lighter wheel combos easier to accerate many times they are slightly smaller in overall diameter which helps with gearing

Same components = same weight

So one wheel weighs the same as the other? No....the lighter versions will soak up less power and therefore be accelerated FASTER than the heavier combo

LOAD based or inertia wont matter....parasitic losses are from the weight of spinning components....wheels, flywheels etc...the lighter the components the more power will hit the ground

Saying wheels arent part of the drivetrain is silly.....how does the power PHYSICALLY hit the ground without wheels or tires?

Which wheel requires more power to spin the 50lb chrome one or the 20lb forged one? If you tell me that both wheels require the same power to spin I give up because your grasp of physics is a little buttery

Even on small motors with Hondas dyno results have been 5-10whp losses just from simple wheel changes keeping he same overall diameter going from 14" wheels to 18"wheels and the extra weight that needed to be spun COST whp...

Dude, with the money your lookin to spend just get the Turbonetics single turbo kit! z1motorsports.com .... All it is, is a complete bolt that includes fm intercooler, intake, and piping that also comes w/a tune. it takes 8-10hrs of installation then you are ready to go! gives you like +120whp in comparison to what you are lookin for.

~check it out man.

The only mods you cant reuse with a turbo kit are the headers.....spacers, intake manifolds, cams, exhausts etc...will all make more power than a simliar TN setup with faster spool and more whp than someone still stuck with stock components

X02 exhaust $575, Popcharger $110, MREV2 + spacer $750-$800, test pipes $200, ---- $1685 .....what brand new kit can you buy for this kinda money?

Your looking at 6-7K installed for most kits (made safe)

You can also buy a 150shot for less money than the turbo kit....different strokes
