What I'm wondering is I've heard that test pipes can give you rasp and that's definitely not what I want because I don't really have any rasp at all. What will it do to my sound besides of course make it louder. Will it be higher pitched? Would resonated or non-resonated test pipes be better?
I'm not sacrificing a farty exhaust note for a few extra horsepower...
I'm sure that is what Michael Schumacher said when he won his 5 consecutive F1 World Championships with Ferrari. "Ferrari, I don't care about going fast, I just want the car to sound good!"
When you guys say it's RASPY stock, do you mean the listerine gargling sound? To me, raspy is like the sound of frying eggs you hear on a civic with open headers.
I just got some helix test pipes installed today. Get a bit of rasp at around 3500-4500 RPM, but I really like the rasp sound. After I get the plenum spacer installed, i'm gonna go for a free dyno to see what those 2 mods got for me. Not expecting much though, but I do like the more aggressive sound that my car gives out now.
