Default Question about Borla exhaust.

Does the dual exhaust only work with headers or can you get it w/o. I dont want to mess with headers, unless its an easy install. If you can get the dual w/o headers...what kind of hp gains.

Thanks CS track

Yeah, I had questions about this too. I have seen in other posts that the headers don't add much horsepower. If this is true, why buy them??? For the sound??? Don't know the answer, maybe someone does, what is the use of spending that much money on headers with no gains, cause I have seen some say they will add them with or without gains.

While Borla has been said to not have much gains, there are some headers here who have. I wonder what these headers would do in combination with the Borla exhaust.

i would think you'd get more power from headers and a high flow cat than from a catback exhaust system...

Let me re-phrase this; is the Borla "true dual" exhaust a cat-back system or do yuo need to buy the headers also? sorry for the confusion.

Hmmmm, so why buy the headers at all??? Minimal power gain and alot of money for few horses. Borla exhausts and maybe the Crawford Z headers a good combo??? I know horsepower just doesn't add up like a video game, lol, but would headers with proven HP gains work better???

Come on guys, give me some direction........

Why by headers?? That's a good question.

My good answer would be that we haven't seen the dyno graph for the cat-back borla vs. cat-back borla with headers. The release said (I think) 23.5 hp for the cat-back and 25 hp for the cat back with the headers too. This is probably peak hp. So maybe the headers give more than the 2 hp peak increase at low and mid rpm. I think we need to see the dyno graphs to answer your question.

i'm not sure about the borlas, but a good set of headers is the most important part of an i/h/e setup, period.

Well, I am not trying to downgrade headers or anything, just wanting to know if they are worth my purchase. I want to upgrade the intake and exhaust, and was wondering if I need headers too. The Borla headers don't seem to upgrade the horsepower by much.

Guess I am just cheap, and I just don't want to spend any money that doesn't add power. In the breathing for the car, I know best case is to upgrade the intake, headers, and exhaust. Need to get over my cheapness I guess, lol.
