Default Finally Instally My EVO TT

Thank You ZCARBANDIT !!! Got my exhaust on Tuesday, couldn't believe he had it in stock for such an awesome price. WOOT

First impression... it's loud... not the bad kind... the girl screaming your name so loud it wakes your neighbors loud. It's beautiful sounding and even better looking. I'm not sure if it's just me, or does this exhaust make you rev up faster. Could be just my lead foot I think switching out my Nismo was probably the best thing i did to my Z. Now to look for a F/I system!

Thumbs up

Glad you like it!

I also bought one and got to open up the box to see the fascinating tips.
But then I sold it to someone locally because he offered me good money for it.
The guy installed it and it sounded awesome! Nice and deep.

He didn't have test pipes though, I'm sure your car is plenty loud.

Turbo exhaust on an N/A car with test pipes? Must be loud! I had the EVO2 on my G with resonated test pipes, and I considered it pretty loud. Do you expirience much rasp? Any hissing sounds? My EVO2 with the test pipes hissed like mad on deceleration (engine braking).

Turbo exhaust on a NA car = nice loss in torque. But glad you're happy~ :-)

no it does not make your car rev faster. and yes it loud and drones around 2500rpm and yes the test pipes make this worse just like with any other exhaust. im to a point where i want to get some metallic hfc's to quiet mine down a bit.

I haven't heard of any hissing, but it does drone, not too bad tho. As for teh loss of torque, I don't mind losing some torque for a few monthes. Better than having to buy a new exhaust this summer to accommendate F/I.

I am getting the Greddy in a few days and already have some brand new Intense Power Resonated Test Pipes. You wouldn't happen to have a sound clip for you set up. I am debating about leaving my stock cats on until I go F/I.

Hmm... just a bump since i got a dynoed yesterday. With the mods listed, I was abled to get 253HP and 277 ft/lbs torque @ Balance Performance yesterday. So the exhaust didn't cause me any torque lost and actually some nice power all the way up to redline. After a year of reading up and hesitation. I will be joining teh Vortech club before the summer ends if my check comes. Aiming for 350-375 HP . Hopefully I will get that.

I don't mean to be a downer but I had the GReddy Evo TT exhaust on my G with my Vortech setup and it was unbearably loud. GReddy Evo TT sounds very nice on a T/TT car but on a SC car, it is very loud and drones very badly. Even Sam @ GTM commented that he got a headache tuning my car because it was so loud. So after a couple of months, I sold it and went with Fast Intentions Intimidator 2.5 inch exhaust. Not only did I get a ton of torque back but sounds so much better. I love the way the exhaust looks but unless you are T/TT, it is not the greatest exhaust or should I say, there are better options.

True, it's not so much the loudness but the drone that gets really annoying.

I love my EvoTT, I am NA right now and it doesn't get annoying to me. If you want it loud, then go with the EvoTT. If you are planning on going turbo then this is the best option for you so you only have to buy 1 exhaust. I get complements from non-G/350Z people that EvoTT make my car sound like the male version of the car.

I hate the two center resonators that hang kind of low on the evoTT. The front edge gets scraped before any other part of the car. I guess it's the low point on my car.

I switched from the FI exhaust to the evoTT and the FI also has a bit of a drone at low rpms. Of course I've never tried it with a SC - only NA, then TT.

Doug do you have any flex sections in your exhaust piping, at all?

There are ways to dampen resonance (drone) using either counterbalances placed at the appropriate point along a pipe or exhaust hangers, again placed at appropriate points. One of these weekends I'm going to play with it - I was going to do the same thing for the FI exhaust, but the evoTT is bit louder but somehow a bit less annoying to me (less reverberating) so I haven't been motivated to jack the car up just to do this. It's hard to test cause the car sounds different under load vs. free revving on jack stands.

EDIT: Interesting read for eliminating drone at 2k rpms: http://forums.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=496793

stock exhausts are interchangeable.......same with aftermarket...headers and test pipes are different though.
