Default 2005 OEM Cats on 2003?

I bought a car equipped with Crawford HFC, originally a Florida car. Well I live in the great emissions **** state of CA. I need the stock cats to run the smog, found a set from a 2005, will they fit an 03 without any issues? Thanks in advance. I'm guessing it's ok since it's still a vq35de and not the new hr motor.

They are different part numbers I see but sometimes it means nothing. I figure as long as they're a straight bolt on with suffiecient bungs for the o2 sensors then I'll be ok. I guess I just want to know if fitment is going to be an issue.

Since you can use the Crawford HFC on any year I assume the same for the OEM cats. There may be a difference in the way that the ECU recognises the signal from the oxygen sensors. That may present you with a SES light problem.

That's what I'm worried about. If I throw a light I can't pass smog.

Why not ask the state of Californina to help you track down the felon/ felons and help you recover the monies necessary to restore to oem.

AS IS doesn't protect previous owners from emission tampering and Fed/state law makes them liable for restoration.

If you purchased car in CA easy to go back against them since the emission certificate they provided is proof that they commited FRAUD.

The car is originally titled and registered in Florida where they don't require smog. I knew this coming in to this car, I don't blame the previous owner whatsoever. I'm just trying to pass smog that's all.
