can someone post up f*cking temps? or at least some sort of analysis of heat soak (even if you use your hand) after a decent drive?

If you put your hand before 30m pushing hard...the carbon box or intake tube are hot. But you can hold your hand on them as long as you want.

hmm... so moderate temperatures?

maybe some sort of heat shield would do some good here.

As I said I was tempted to get this intake. I just thought that since the filter was smaller and had that silver tip on it it couldn't possible flow more air than a pop? Maybe I am wrong?

Most of the big name's (vendors) on here I have emailed have have nearly all said get the Pop which is why I did. I hope I made the right choice! If the carbon shield is the only benefit it is not much of a gain other than looks.

One advantage the pop has over the mishimoto is a carb # so if you get pulled over show the cop that and your on your mary(unless youhave other mod's) way so its not all bad

I bought one. Had the popcharger previously, but it made my engine stall every now and then. The mishi sure looks good, but I'm suprised how uneven the inner surface of the carbon intake tube is. You will only get visual gains from that.

There's hardly any filter area on this thing.

From a heat soak perspective, I agree. But over a revup airbox? I doubt it.
