Slightly louder than stock, meaning, not as loud as nismo. Not the exhaust for you if you are wanting loud.

 

Car is in the shop having the TPs taken off. I'm also getting rid of the resonator. I had installed it to get rid of the rasp but it only made it worse. Once I get the XYZ pipe I'll try the TPs again and hopefully it wont have any rasp then. I just couldn't stand that annoying rasp/rattle anymore! Definitely not worth the hp gains to me.

 

You despise rasp and you installed TP's and removed a resonator?

 

you know...its not completely accurate how the sound is on video

thats why i was asking for people who have heard it in person, to tell me

hard to judge from video alone....

 

well there are multiple videos on youtube as well

while no one expects any video to be 100% faithful reproduction without expensive equipment, I'd say watching a variety of videos from a variety of people is an infinitely better option vs someones interpretation of the sound

 

To clarify, i'm replacing my cats and removing the resonator that I installed in hopes of getting rid of the rasp while I still had the TPs. Basically, I'll just have the GReddy with no resonator on the midpipe. I'll let you know what happens. I know it may be yet another headache but for now just wish me luck, please.

my question, i think, is a little less subjective

just wanted to know which was louder. if the spectrum is not substantially louder/quieter than nismo, then this is just what i wanted to know

 

Leave the resonator and put in your cats. If its too quiet get HFC's. Removing a resonator will ALWAYS add rasp.

 

I ended up leaving the resonator in. Its only a bit louder than stock unless you step on it. I'm gonna chill for now untill I can afford the xyz pipe. HFC's may be next after that.

 

I am under the understanding that you should be running TP to the XYZ for the best benefits. It just seems like a very expensive Y-pipe replacement if you are going to be going HFC before it. Maybe Motordyne has input into this, but that was the way I understood it from them.

 

I'm not going to sell my TPs untill after I watch the video you're going to make for us.

Seriously, tho... When do you install?

UPDATE: JUST got the SE. Gonna put it on today. Still waiting on the TPs. Should have next week, gonna put them on with the XYZ pipe. Will keep everyone updated.

Also: HUGE thanks to Assultech for the SE and other parts. They answered many questions for me and kept me posted on back orders, shipping, etc.

Ha...sorry. Installed the SE with no prob at all....very easy to do on the ground. Gonna try to do the TP and XYZ right now. Just looking up the TP DIY!

Bad news, getting my cats off was hell...car is going into the shop for some work on tuesday anyways, so I decided to just have them do it. When it is done, I can email someone the Vid and they can post it (no clue how to do that).

Can do the Vid with the stock cats and SE, TP+XYZ HFC+SE, and then TP+XYZ Resonator+SE. Let me know if some one can help me with the vid.
