hmm interesting

if this turns out to be accurate, maybe this would be a good alternative for those wanting to switch to a JIC y pipe etc. Save yourself $350. Altho the JIC design still looks better. The oem looks so damn heavy

Ahh yes, but there are no dynos showing gains with aftermarket y-pipes either. Nissan saw it fit to change the y-pipe design of the HR and the design is significantly different than that of the DE/Revup y-pipe. In the exhaust tuning world, the purpose of long downtubes is to improve torque and throttle response. I did the swap because I was curious and the HR pipes WERE cheap at the time. I'm one of the most pessemistic people on Driver and I'm happy to report my car certainly isn't experiencing any losses from the install of pipe. Throttle response and lowend torque are definitely improved. Is there a gain? I really don't know and really don't care because the pipe has improved the way the car drives and sounds. For $50, it was well worth it. People spend $400 for aftermarket y-pipes that hurt lowend power, haven't shown legit gains, etc.

In all honesty, I hope the Z crowd dismisses this mod so G owners can horde the pipes

butt dynos, bench racing, ricer math = ftl.

your hr y-pipe probably does the same thing as a tb spacer... basically nothing.

Exactly!!! It's total ricer math and bench racing. The mod is a farce. You guys definitely shouldn't be interested.

this makes me wonder if my nismo catback's y pipe is more beneficial versus my stock 07 ypipe.. the nismo ypipe is more similar to the older style de ypipes in terms of lengths of the sections.

edit
I recycled my old exhaust
=(
