Default True-Dual Exhausts

Asides from the mighty popular Borla true dual exhaust, what other true dual exhausts are out there?

I designed my own system at a local muffler shop. Car is a "G" 6MT. I designed it after the Bolra system, before it was announced for the "G". I used 2.25" pipe, an H pipe. 2 Blue Streak Glasspacks feeding a Magnaflow X pipe muffler. Thing sounds great and added power that I could feel. I sprayed the muffler with high temperature flat black for a stealthy look. I also used the stock tips. I'm glad I did it this way. Love the sound and power, and it's unique.

Supposedly, Greddy and Injen are coming out with new dual exhausts within a couple of months.
I've got the Borla in boxes at my house, but I'm trying to wait to check out what these new exhausts are like before I out it on.

Anybody know exactly when they are being released? I'm getting tired of waiting.

I don't like Borla for 1 main reason. Too many connecting pipes. Don't look as strong as Injen or Invidia.

INJEN is the best out right now for hp gains (between 14hp and 18hp). for fit and finish I personally like the Fujitsubo and its 5in tips.

Isn't the current Invidia exhaust that't out a dual exhaust, but not a true-dual? I dunno. And is the Injen you guys are talking about the one with angled tips?

working on a true dual as i am typing this from acosta racing. we are cutting the "Y" Flange and making it true dual with 6" Magnaflow canisters with angled tips like the Injen. I also am adding aluminum heat shielding on my rear bumper

The prototype customer in chicago proved 6whp gain with the Y-pipes. So i am hoping for a total of 10-12whp with the true dual.

I am not going to even bother dynoing since the piping on this exhaust is all foreplay for the twin turbo in 2004. I have 2.5" diameter piping from header back now. woo hoo.

I hope you offer it with straigh pipes. Allot of people, including myself don't really like the angled tips.

Unfortunately, unless you live near Acosta, in which case they will make you anything you want, they wont mass produce straight-type systems. The problem with the straight angled canisters is the rear bumper on my kit and the general space underneath the car. There is no room underneath to allow large canisters to come straight out.

That is why so many companies do dual exhaust and then end it with a stock type muffler. You will see what i mean when i post photos.

I need to make a correction. I am using 2.5" stainless steel throughout and 2 Bosal Exhaust canisters. They are all manufactuered overseas by the same company anyway.

Here are some in progress photos.
