Default Butt-dyno sez I restored 20hp...

...Just by replacing my leaking Y-Pipe with a new one!

I bought the Z earlier this year and I guess I was too noob to realize my Y-pipe was having some leak until a friend told me so.

No wonder the revs kept dipping every time i release the accelerator. i always thought it was the CAI messing up the a/f or something. Some idiotic shop said it might be the fuel pump.

Last week, I ran into a monstrous hump that tore the already-fcked up Y-pipe, causing the Z to sound like a friggin Harley D chopper. I was forced to buy a new one.

The Z never felt so much lighter and a lot smoother to drive after the install. Now, there's always a voice that keeps on telling me to squeeze the damn pedal and feel the powah!

So is it always the y-pipe that hits the ground first?

^LOL!!!

I guess it's always the Y-pipe that rubs the ground first whenever the Z decides to scrape the asphalt. So i went for the used stock one. barely scratched too.

A well performing exhaust is a well flowing exhaust. Good flow is critical to optimal performance. When gases have turbulence in the stream, they loose velocity and therefore slow down the flow. When you get a leak in the exhaust, that is exactly what happens: significant disruption in the flow. Also, a leak disrupts temps which also help the exhaust flow better. The idea is to keep the heat in. Leaks disrupt that which contributes to the problem.
To summarize, best exhaust is the one that flows best at a particular point in time. There is no one "best exhaust" because one size does not fit all. To achieve best flow, you need correct diameter matched to the volume of gases and ability to keep the heat in to promote velocity. Hope that helps.

Yeah my Y pipe is really messed up as well and I seem to have another leak further back too. I'm going aftermarket.

Yeah I don't think it's a good sign that my Y pipe is all shredded up.

20whp eh? your butt dyno must based off a dynocom or a inflated mustang dyno. get someone with a dynojet or dynodynamics butt dyno to re-dyno your car. and dont tell me that you used some sort of dynojet correction because we all know that all butt dynos are different.
