Default Tips to make Z sound more "mean"

hey guys, please forgive me but ive just "turned on" to cars recently due to the Z so you can imagine i am a complete NOOB. i have an 07 Z and i would like to know what i can do to make it sound more "mean"? i like the way it sounds stock but an exhaust is too much noise for me, so is there anything in between to make it sound more mean yet not overbearing? thanks guys i appreciate your help.

Full motor build, turbo or turbos, and NO cats.

OR

Invidia N1 - that was my original exhaust upgrade. Best sound out there, in my opinion

New exhaust, the HKS Hi-Power sounds great and is not too loud. Sometimes I forget it is even on the car. Ya might want to look into some headers, Berk High Flow Cats, a CAI maybe? I personally am more concerned with the performance aspect than that of a mean sound, just my .02...

yea im rocking the Invidia N1 and this thing is LOUD as a cannon!! even while driving below 3k RPM, at WOT this thing is a BEAST! ... I have to turn the music up a notch to get my mind off the sound from the exhaust.

yea, i was thinking of doing CAI but what would be recommended? the nismo CAI, injen, stillen? i heard that using a CAI actually makes you lose power? is there any truth to this?

The only CAI with any proven results that I would recommend would be the Injen CAI for the Z33. They claim 15 HP to the wheels, however, your looking at more like 7-8 HP. The downside to these are the cost that is associated ($400-$500) depending on where you shop. Not sure if the $$$ is worth 7-8 horses to you... If you ask me, HFC's are the best bang for the buck as far as what you are looking for...

I have a Tenabe Super Hyper Medalion, and Gruppe-S Y-pipe I love the tone. No rasp at all, awesome note around 4k RPM's. No highway drone, a little louder than stock, but much better tone. Check it...
