Default URGENT!! Exhaust Fix-it Ticket

Hello everyone!

If anyone can give me good info on what I should do that would be awesome.

I got pulled over rolling 4 mph in neutral. The cop pulls me over and cites me for my exhaust (greddy true dual 3" TT).

I took it to the state ref because i was so positive that it would pass the 95 db level (CA Law) because Greddy's site says all TT or Tic models are at 92db.

The test result came as 119 db. I couldn't think of enough swear words to say.
It turned out that the exhaust is at 92db at idle. I got screwed real bad.

Any info/tips will be greatly appreciated. i've considered adding a silencer or bolt on muffler but the exhaust will not accept it and im sure the difference wont drop it down to 95 db.

I don't have my stock exhaust either so putting that one back on is out of the question unless i can find it for cheap somewhere.

Please let me know of any sources for cheap stock exhaust or if you guys have any other solutions that would be great as well.

Thnx a lot!

I think quite a few people on here sell stock exhausts. Look in the socal marketplace section. If you don't find any there, you can try craigslist. Only I've noticed that people on craigslist tend to sell their parts for more $ than on here. You might get lucky and find one for about $50-70

yeh the best option would be find/buy a stock exhaust so when this happens again you can switch.

you def dont want to hack your exhaust add resonators.. you could look for silencers around somewhere for you tips and drill a hole to place a small bolt to hold in place no idea how low the db will get.

so what makes your car 119db.. jus the greddy dual 3"..
you have a y also?
cats?

If I was looking for a OEM exhaust I would check the marketplace and my regional forum.

I have trouble believing 119dB. That is jet engine loud, close and personal. I'd be questioning when the test equipment was last certified.

I too just installed a HKS knockoff and I know I will get pulled over for loud exhaust. Ebay sells silencers that mount on the tail pipe end, do they really work?, they look really easy to put on.
Thanks,

Yes the greddy tt is 2.75" not 3" ,,

op if you have the EvoTT they dont sell silencers,, you could put a silencer and drill a hole,,

if your exhaust is the Evo Tic,, then there is a silencer you could buy and install
