Good find.
I had the carbon gaskets that came with the ART pipes fail almost immediately. I replaced them with RTV and was fine for about 5K miles but just recently got another CEL for the bank 1 O2 sensors (same as before, indicative of another leak at those joints).

I think the exhaust manifolds are made of different metal than the ART pipes (or any other test pipes for that matter) which causes an issue when they heat up and expand at a different rate from the test pipes.

Agree that for a Z, it's not likely given the typical curve. Maybe he has a *peaky* curve?
It's quite common for turbo charged cars to have higher peak torque than horsepower. It's very uncommon for a high revving N/A car to have that, however. Either something is wrong with the top-end of his car or the dyno was giving off an incorrect reading.

I understand it to be partially to do with the angle the gasses pass the joint, the extreme temp and pressure causes the issue with flat flange connections. The problem only exists on later models where the connection is different on the manifold.

Yes, they give higher absolute delta gains in TQ but they also make more HP than test pipes too.

If you need a replacement set of gasket just let me know. We have a new heavy duty gasket material that can take the heat.

We also have a new inlet design for the HR and VHR ART pipes that uses the stock metal crush ring. It will never leak or blow out.

I purchased mine from a vendor around the 1st of july, he was out in California I wonder if I have them? Do you have pics of these to compare?

Also, If i wanted to put a wideband on my car, would I have to have a bung drilled into my ART pipes for my 07? I really dont want to have that done lol. Or would on the manifold or Y pipe suffice?

The V3 pipes are for the HR motors and have a 'lip' on the end of the pipe that connects to the manifold.

If you post pics it can be confirmed.

OFF TOPIC BUT VERY IMPORTANT

Please note if you have recently sent an email to Motordyne it may not have gone through. Our email volume is very high and for some reason it has corrupted Outlook.
I thought I had it fixed last week but apparently its not completely fixed. Not all emails are making it through. We are working to fix it now!

If you have any questions please feel free to call us (661) 298-7555.

Thank you!
Tony

I suggest putting the wideband after the merge collector of the Y pipe.

Hey Tony, does the DE have the new inlet design or is it only for the HRs?

Only the HR's need the flange, there is no problems at all on the DE's.

I installed mine a few days ago on my HR with the new V3's and last night the car threw code P2A03. Should I suspect a leak somewhere? everything was fine prior to install, so I do not suspect the o2 sensors to be at fault.

edit: I used my cobb accessport to scan the code and it said something about control unit dtc code P2A03.
