It really isn't all that heavy for what people say it is, nothing that really matters or affects anything and it will reduce cabin noise
ehh kazuma???

I just have stock cats. Thanks for the input guys. I'll call Tony and ask him about the V2/Gamma set up.

I'm going to have to agree with David here.

Since the OP already has the exhaust and is just trying to cope with/tone down the cabin noise and doesn't care about weight, I'd say go with the sound deadening route. I used a combo of Dynamat and spray-in bedliner for my entire vehicle. This was for audio purposes, but it also helped reduced interior rattle, keep my tunes inside the car, and reduce some road noise. You can literally be in the car with the windows rolled up and the system blasting(2000 Watts RMS), and barely hear it outside. When you close the doors, it's a solid thud instead of a clank followed by rattle. But that's my preference. I could care less about weight, even though I compensated for the extra weight by buying the Full titanium Ti Fujitsubo exhaust which only weighs 26 lbs total...

I wrapped the whole back of my car in Dynamat from the inside of the Cavity behind the seats, all the way to the very back of the car. Road noise is way down and exhaust noise is way down. I have Long tube headers, no cats, and a Borla dual exhaust.

I'm not going to put stock exhaust back on I really like the one I have a lot. Just want to turn down in cabin noise a bit. Its nit an allthe time drone just at speeds/rpms. I'm sure after it breaks in a little bit more it'll be better too.

adding bit of sound deadning does not add that much weight. Maybe 20~30 LBS or 50+ if you go all out.

Plus you are laying the weight out flat and distributed evenly so is not like adding a 50 LBS bag of sand in the trunk.

Go ahead with the sound deadning stuff. Start out in the obvious areas, nearest of the trunk to the muffler, then rear wheel wells, then under the seat and so on and on until you feel its tolerable.

I did almost the entire car in my STI in 1 day...

hey zmedic i understand where your coming from i hate interior exhaust noise too i layered my rear hatch with some dynomat knockoff and it made a noticeable difference with exhaust. if weight is not an issue then go with the sound deadening route. also got some sound deadening spray and shot the underside of my wheelwells too made a big difference.
