residue being left on my bumper
ok so ive noticed after driving that my exhaust seems to be leaving black residue on my bumper. it reaches all the way up to where the nissan logo is on the hatch. its only noticeable up close, but enough to bother me. i have a greddy spectrum catback and megan racing tp's. if needed i can try to get pics. but does anyone have an idea as to the cause of this?
yeah i figured it was the test pipes i forgot to put that, but i dont have problem removing it, its like dust particles they wipe right off...but as far as prevention? other than going back to cats...thanks
Prevention? This is really a detailing question. A good coat of wax.

yeah i thought going hfc's. but yeah i think i might try the whole wax. thanks hdpd for your great insight, im sure my car would look great UY with a black bumper itll look like a junkyard car. but blu i know what your talking about, i think meguiars has it too and i might go this route first.
thanks

I would just extend the exhaust 4-5 feet beyond the bumper. It's really a win-win in the the fact that it will eliminate the carbon buildup AND provide a sporty "don't **** with me" look. Might even help out of you get rear-ended by absorbing some of the impact.
Yeah, it's from your test pipes, get used to it. Wax will not prevent it, it'll just make it easier to wipe off when washing/cleaning your car. The brake dust stuff you spray on the rims allows you to wash brake dust off with just water from a hose. It doesn't actually prevent brake dust.
