Last Minute Help On Decent Replacement
Greetings,
I unfortunately have a large crack/whole in the section of my muffler, near the flange connecting to the mid-pipe. I need to select a quality replacement exhaust that is not overly expensive.
If I cant find a suitable aftermarket solution, I am going to end up paying the dealer $700 to install new stock mid-pipe and muffler (that may also include a new stock y-pipe but I dont need that). This would be terribly dissapointing, to pay $700 bucks for stock components, if I could get my hands on a good aftermarket solution for anything up to $800 or $900, that would be much better. I would install it myself.
If affordable, a cat back exhaust package would be desirable, but if a decent one cant be had in my price range, I would go with a mid-pipe+muffler package, or worst case just a muffler.
Please, I would appreciate any suggestions. My priorities would be quality and performance, sounds is not so important. I have a 2004 350z that is naturally aspirated.
Thanks!

Lots of cat back exhaust available within your budget. Quality replacement? Quality is in the eyes of the beholder: http://www.google.com/products?clien...N&hl=en&tab=wf
David, thank you for your reply. Certainly there are many in my price range, and I agree that quality is subjective. What I am looking for is some means to decide between the products in my price range. I am hoping to capitalize on first hand experience that other forum members might have.
On this site you can find great second hand aftermarket and OEM exhaust at steals. Someone is always trying to unload OEM at near shipping cost. Keep your eye on the 350z classifieds under the Marketplace tab near top of this page.
I was almost set on the Gemini but then it occurred to me that it was likely rather heavy. Anything similar that is lighter? I believe Borla is lighter but many seem to say they have to many parts/tolerance issues, true?

Considering it is just the muffler that has a hole, would it be a bad idea to just replace that with stock?
What this comes down to is whether or not the other stock exhaust components (ypipe, mid-pipe) are likely to fail. If that is likely, then I would will just get all new exhaust (I think Gemini at this point).
Please let me know your thoughts/experience.
Thanks!

Look at it like this. This is ur chance to upgrade. If price is a touchy subject why not X02? Ebay brand. If u wanna spend more and get more then u need to research and see what u like
