Will there EVER be a GOOD plenum that keeps the stock strut?

The angle of the picture does not show the fact that there is not enough room to move back any further. The bar comes down in front of the oil cap location. Hard to see that with all that Bling under the hood

The stock bar is bent to clear over the top of the plenum. Ours is straight. put both in a press which one bends first . . . we did. We ruined the stock bar. Ours never bent and is on my car now. The dynamics of the front strut bar are based on a lateral moment and the placement of our bar prevents this to your desire (i.e. adjustable). The flanges that attach to the strut tower are made out of 1/4 inch steel instead of sheet metal (stock) to compensate for its minor advancement in the engine bay. It took longer to develop a proper strut bar setup then the plenum. (no . . the plenum was developed in haste).

Hey tator, pm me your address so I can send you a little sussie.

Its the only one in the US and it is on my car!
Hah! Y'all finally admitted to being behind that gag about being a small father and son shop from Japan? That means Vic was in on it too....

How come you don't use the can opener (cut around the sides) technique on the regular plenums? Which technique gains more power?

Actually... more than Vic was in on it.

Yuichi from StrictlyZ was in on it, actually he was shocked some "white boys" from Tennessee could come up with a JDM name!

The whole thing was to see HOW curious would the community be to something like this. We got the response we were looking for, continued testing it on Dougs car - then when ready he showed it!

so how are they attached to the car, where actually?
would not that new mounting point make the bar/mount weaker at that point? Where it connects to the car? how could you test to see that connection is not weaker? (please elaborate)

Or does that just not make sense?

oh and btw - whats all this BS in the thread?

I never said I disliked Crawford, actually I liked it but hoped for more. After reading this, it might be the only one on the block for quite a while so you either step up or stay home!

That polished one looks great and would fit in very nicely with my hybrid polished intake, so, I am now interested in the Crawford plenum more than when I started this thread!

AND ANOTHER THING

I even MORE impressed that Doug (I am using his first name here and I do not know him) came into this thread and has answered questions and kept his cool very nicely.

In my book thats a guy you can trust to work hard, give you a good product and BACK IT UP!

Hey Mr. Crawford.....

How about a deal on one of those nice. clean polished plenums you got there combined with a "stronger than factory" strut?

The 1/4" steel bracket bolts into the exact location that the stock bracket does. The main difference is the stock bar goes over the engine and ours is directly in front of engine. If it makes any consolation, this same setup has been ask for replication on the G35. Big difference is the G35 does not have any stock bar and does not have the added (after thought) mounting plate that the Z has to mount the stock bracket (bar) to the car.

Doug, Vandy, Chris etc.

They could turn a wrench on my Z any time and I have probably logged 3 hours of talk time on the phone some times at 9pm EST just picking Doug's brain. I wonder how many years of combiined experience on Z's they have all together. 30 or more?

California could learn allot fron the Midwest and Southern people and yeah I too winced at the "yer neck" comment. I am considering the Crawford for my blower and then a TS reflash to run 9 lbs with my wide open exhaust and a new P.E. fuel pump (higher flow.) The only thing stopping me from calling Doug today and ordering the plenum is that he is probably back ordered and I am working on a Verter GB.

He is back ordered for a reason, the plenum makes power both N/A and N20. I agree, if you want looks get the bling. I want speed and don't care much what my engine looks like to a certain extent. I have already ran the Crawford Plenum into the 12's and then sold it to another guy running it into the 12's. Crawford Z? Good people, good product and I want another one in due time. I hate when a good thread degenerates into insults. My 2 cents and I hope I haven't offended anyone.

Your comments are ok by me as we have resolved ourselves with each other like other times. Individual and I have that history. It's cool though. And the yer kneck comment was only in place to push buttons. No harm intended as I am sure Indy knows.
